Amazing professor and friend. I took 60% of my classes with him. He is a character. He is loud, easily excitable, and amusing. He is personable, a wealth of knowledge, and a deep thinker. You may not always get him, but you will always learn in his class if you do the reading and participate. Ten years after graduating, I am still quoting him.

The worst experience I have ever had. Do not take any of Dr. Smiths classes. His class was a complete waste of time and money. To be completely honest he is an embarassment to Marymount University

he's actually really nice if you give him a chance, and if you do a little research on him you'll find him very well known throughout the government. he's very helpful if you ask & knows way beyond the topic, would recommend

Useless, inane, confusing, not at all helpful. You better know how to teach yourself, otherwise you'll have no idea what's going on. The only good thing about Smith is that the study guides. JUST STAY AWAY.

This man is very loud and i MEAN LOUD. He rambles on about blah blah and never can stay on track. Words of widsom he always uses. "This is good Stuff" And what is that supposed to mean if you cannot understand the material. Overall hes confusing and he has favorites in his class, its ver obvious. Horrible teacher,overall. Goodluck if you ahve him.

Personable and humorous. Does not consistently take attendance. Religious, occasionally ties into lectures but does not force it. I feel I learned more about International Relations reading the front page of the newspaper. Too many random tangents. Lots of reading but material not always relevant. Tests are all essays. Overall, I was disappointed.

This guy ROCKS! He is wealth of information. He is able to follow the books as well as depart from the books and discuss anything from the hip and make it relevant. Now it did take me a class or two to catch up with his style of teaching but once you find his groove he is a really good teacher.You read before the class you will get a lot out of it.

Great professor! He did a great job on conveying politics, though can be a bit conservative in his views. Obviously has large interest in subject taught in is very fair in his grading methods...will help you out from a C+ to B if needed.

He was not clear to me at all! He was hard to follow during lecture discussions. It seemed like he spoke in fragments most of the time, seriously. And he talks TOO loud! It could make other people outside the classroom think that he's yelling at us or something. I think he had favorites in the class which is why he kept calling on them.

Great teacher. Do what he asks and you will get an A. His voice is extremely loud, and he can jar you a few times. Take courses with him if you can because his classes are informative and won't hurt your GPA.

Any class with Smith is awesome. He is funny, and not always PC. He is a ton of fun, and really smart. He wants everyone in his classes to succeed.
