Know that going into his class means you are really going to have to work. His work is challenging but not impossible. He makes you think hard and when you complete a problem you feel accomplished. His class really helps to prepare you for heavy work in future classes. A long as you work hard in his class you will be rewarded.

He really cares about the student, and hopes they will succeed. The only problem, his teaching clarity is a little off. I had him for an upper level course and he moved very quickly and assumed students possessed knowledge they did not. Very nice man, he just thinks he's teaching to other professors, not students who have never seen the material.

VERY HELPFUL! If you show improvement and interest in doing well, he appreciates it, helps you out, and gives you the benefit of the doubt. I got a D on a test, but fixed all my mistakes on the final and ended up with a B in the class. TAKE HIM!

You are very lucky to have Dr. Ritchey. He loves to see students succeed and will try in all his power to make you do so. Even if you fail something he allowed the class to retake a similar test not only to help boost your grade, but he really wanted to see that you were learning the material. Awesome teacher if you can get him!

Teaches everything the exact wrong way of how you are actually supposed to be taught. I had Calculus in High School and it's supposed to be the same class and this guy makes it as hard as possible. Do not take... I repeat DO NOT TAKE!!!
