He never explained himself, he lorded information over the students and everytime I left the classroom, I felt I hadn't learned anything and never felt good about the classroom experience.

Comment:

I had him before and got along well with him. I decided to take him a second time, and was sorely disappointed. He's emotionally detached from his classroom and is very non-committal when discussing assignment expectations. He's a nice man, but his heart's not in it. It's not worth the struggle.

He is better in this class than in ENGL 101, I found him to be better at explaining the assignments and it all just seemed a lot more straightforward. Once again, you shouldnt take him if you need a lot of explanation.

Comment:

It wasn't a great class to take, but I did learn quite a bit from Mr. Cooper. He is not the best at explaining things, but I think that is because it was ENGL 101 and nobody, not even someone who is thinking about majoring in english, generally enjoys that class. Don't take him if you need a lot of explanations.

I liked him a lot. I really think his grading depends on if you are applying yourself or not. My friend is pretty smart and is an okay writer, but she would sometimes fall asleep and he would try to humiliate her in front of everyone. She usually got bad grades, I didn't try super hard but got an A-.

Horrible teacher. Rarely mentions important things in class, instead says it's on the schedule or syllabus. Very unclear about assignments and expectations. Takes forever to give things back. Talks down to students, doesn't recognize different points of view than his as valid. Do not take him if at all possible.

I an also a student in ENG-201 who feels that Mr. cooper is doing all of the class a huge diservice. He does not know what he is talking about half the time and is bull headed. if you have Him DROP THIS CLASS ASAP!!!! i promise you, the are much, much better teachers for this class.( Im also writing a complante letter to the dean of addmissions)

I regret now withdrawing from his class (and this is coming from a person who has English as their best subject) He doesn't teach. Yes words will come out of his mouth, but it is all rubbish. He doesn't clearly explain his assignments, leaving the class with a blank expression and failed assignments.

He's an interesting PERSON, but as a teacher, he could be better. He's pretty vague about requirements, and his voice occasionally kinda blends in with the white noise, if you know what I mean. He doesn't really seem interested in teaching, but it is apparent that he truly loves the language. He's a writer first and a teacher second.

Comment:

Very funny guy. He can be very sarcastic but this was one of my favorite classes. He always keeps the class engaged and having fun. When lecturing or talking about essays he takes the time to make sure we understand what he wants. All you have to do to get a better understanding is ask and he'll help you. Fast paced and fun. I really recommend him!

Enough said already, very unclear about what hes is grading on, or is looking for. You have to learn to conform to his ideas. Provides a hostile classroom environment at times. You dont have to avoid this class but explore other options if available.

He might be a cool guy outside of the classroom but inside, he's the most useless person I've ever met. Sorry to harsh, but it's the best way I could describe him. Unhelpful, uninterested, unclear. I gladly accepted that W on my transcript than to deal with this guy any further. He only goes in to get his job done, you can tell he's eager to leave.

Cooper is a great guy outside of the classroom. In class, he is constantly late and does a horrible job of explaining assignments. Many students refuse to ask questions out of fear of ridicule, embarrassment, and insult. Cooper knows his English, but fails to know how to teach it to his students. This was by far the worst class I have ever taken.

Cooper's class was the worst class I've ever been in. He comes in late most of the time. He ridicules your ideas and perception. Theres basically no positive learning vibe in his classroom. He ask you if you have a question, and criticize you for what you just asked. TERIBBLE!!!

Cooper is late practically every day and exhibits minimal enthusiasm. He often has us analyze abstract works subjective in nature, but expects a very specific interpretation and will grade you down if your thoughts don't correlate with his. The trick is more to get inside his head than demonstrate a mastery of the content. Use at your own risk.
