Professor Sullivan is great and you can just tell he really cares about his students. It's a lot more writing than I've been used to but I can definitely say I have grown as a writer because of his class. David is an awesome Professor. Very kind, knowledgeable, caring and understanding teacher. He gave excellent feedback and if you forgot an assignment, as long as you sent it to him within the same day that its due, he doesnt care. I would highly recommend his class. Satire writing was very interesting and Fun!

David is an excellent English professor. He gives great feedback on papers and offers a ton of help. David implements satire writing for papers which is a lot of fun. The classes involve discussion and group work. I would recommend his class to anyone and would definitely take it again! Easy to get a good grade if you do the work!

350 characters are not enough to describe how amazing this professor is. This was the first English course I took after high school and I cannot describe how my perception of writing was changed. This professor gives amazing feedback on drafts and really pushes his students. Not an easy A kind of class, but a become a better writer kind of class.

He is very talkative. The majority of the class you will hear him drone on and on about the same sentence or paragraph. We don't make very much progress in the class. Very easy to pass but your patience will ware very thin. There isn't much homework, just essays and reading fill in the blank worksheets. I do not recommend this teacher.

The problem with Sullivan is that he relies too heavily on google docs, which wouldn't be a problem but has them go up to around 200+ pages making it impossible to read if everyone in the class is on it. He is also useless at giving a clear grade and why.

Took Sullivan for Engl 1A & 1B. He's an incredible teacher; I would gladly take another class with him. He assigns lots of work & expects you to put in the work for a good grade. In 1B, you produce the "Porter Gulch Review" -- it's an interesting English course, unlike one I've ever taken. Lots of reading/work to do, but well worth it.

AWESOME TEACHER. Expect lots of readings/homework in the beginning but it eases up after awhile. Easy quizzes every couple weeks. Wrote 5 essays but they were all on our chosen topics. He allows rewrites on each essay so you can improve your grade each time. Very funny, understanding guy. Not hard to get an A if you do all the work on time and try!

A very kind and helpful instructor that picks interesting subject matter for his students to tackle. Just had the summer session with him and I'm sad it's over now. Class was never dull, I re-learned how to love writing again. If you use your critical thinking and put in any effort, you will pass and enjoy this course!

Great class. I expected it to be easier than it was, but I learned a lot and that's what made it worthwhile. He's passionate yet flexible and easy-going. I can't imagine anyone not enjoying his class regardless of background or major. Take good notes and don't be afraid to use your own unique voice in your writing.
