Love this class! He does talk alot but its usually interesting. Breaks up class work with videos which is nice. Remembers everyones interests and gives little bits of inspiration to each student. Isnt always clear on assignments but hes very approachable if you need help. Take this class, Doug is very passionate about art and a great prof

Doug is a real down to earth guy who really cares about this subject. You honestly just need to try in the class. How much you get back from the experience is totally up to you. Helpful guy no matter the skill level. As far as him talking too much he just wants students to interact and care about art history and life instead of just sitting bored

Drawing 1 & 2 and Watercolor. I think the world of Doug, he's positive & encouraging, no matter what your level of skill may be. He teaches both the tradition of creating art and the technique. Doug likes you to connect with the history of any given medium which is so cool because it makes you feel part of all art that has gone before you.

Durrant is the nicest guy you will ever meet! He's very encouraging and complimentory. I don't like drawing, but I loved his class. If you're looking or any advice on careers in the art field, he's the best person to ask. He's done everything and knows everyone.

Easy A. Doug is great, he usually talks the first 15-20 minutes of class, just about whatever but it is usually pretty interesting. Very encouraging. Just follow the outlines he hands out and you can get an A. You spend a lot of time on one assignment though.

took 2 of his classes, drawing and art 100. hes got some good stories... be prepared to stand and listen for a while. he is a wise man though, take his advice! its good to pick what you want to draw before you come to class. print out referance pictures to get a good head start and stay on top of poject assignments!

He can get on your nerves at 8 in the morning but you have to love his encouraging spirit and willingness to see you succeed at whatever you do. Doug Durrant is more than an Art teacher. Some instructors focus on the technical aspects. Doug is about exposure. If you would like to be exposed to the masters, and do artwork in the coolest environment, then go with Doug!

He bugged the crap out of me, he talks for hours and you have to stand there and listen. Also he has this air about him, like you should feel honored to be complimented by him.I got an A in his class but I really don't like him. Too much talking, too little time to paint. But he's easy, lenient and he will remember your name. He's just annoying.

I really did enjoy his class. The majority of the class is your lab time working on projects. I had him this year for summer, and it wasn't overwhelming. We began the class with videos relating to projects we were about to begin, mostly art history. He talked alot in the beginning of class, but helpful in end. always positive. Recommend.

What an awesome teacher! full of knowledge.. leanrt soo much from him about stuff that didnt even relate to art! and when he knows what oyur plannign on doing he ll give you adivce and help you in that feild in whatever way he can. He'll annoy you at the same time as you really love him. Very laid-back (not structured but you'll learn way more than you think), remembers *everyone's* names and ambitions, and he'll go out of his way to help you with yours (even giving connections or suggestions). Listen to what he says, it'll make sense later.
