If you do not show up to class everyday and take notes, you will not pass. It was not an impossible class, because everything he spoke in lecture was on the test. However, if you aren't a history buff. Be prepared to study your *** off.

I'm not sure if It's because I took his class online, but I didn't have a good experience. Never uploaded a lecture on time and wasn't good at communicating with his students. We were left wondering when we were ever gonna get our assignments. Seems like a very nice person, just did things on his own schedule and did not respect my time.

He is very knowledgable about history, but this was a tough class! I did finish with a good grade, but I had to study for atleast 10 hours to prepared for his tests. He gave a bunch of attendance quizzes, SUPER EASY, so you need to attend the class!! His exams are completely essay based except a few vocab words you have to identify.

DONT take him. Bullied students and ignored ODA stuff. Felt lost entire class and so did others. Went from a class of 22 down to 15 due to him. Disrespectful to students in general, felt like I was bothering when asking a question (rarely got an answer too). Look him up on youtube, some videos of his personality are there.

Dr. Chambers is an amazing professor. I took him with a smaller class, so he didn't have any TA's. He only gave 2 exams: Midterm and Final. He said his normal classes would have 2 midterms, though. He didn't take attendance every lecture, but he did pop-up attendance quizzes for extra credit. His grading system wasn't point-based. All letter grades

You don't have to read the textbook, but if you want to know what his lectures are about read before class. "Pop quiizes" to take attendance, never know when he takes attendance.

this man is the worst teacher I have ever taken in my entire life. he takes points off of the littlest things, I've made terrible grades on most of my papers because my margins weren't right (THEY WERE RIGHT). he's rude to his students and I will never take him again

I love Dr. Chambers, but a lot of people don't. I've taken him for like 10 courses & I hated him at first. He's very rough around the edges, but if you get to know him you'll love him. He can be mean, but take it with a grain of salt, bc he really is a great teacher. Study hard, come to class, and listen to what he says. You'll be fine, I promise!

The tests are hard, and are graded very tough! Other than the words on the screen, the lecture is all over the place. Study Hard and dont skip the class! He gives extra credit and writing assignments.

I did really well just cause I took notes on everything he said exactly as he said it. That seriously helped me pass. My recommendation is to not to skip the class and if you do defiantly make a friend who takes good notes. He is super specific on his criteria though so either follow it exactly or get ready to lose points.

Dr. Chambers is a good prof, but he goes off on tangents that can be hard to follow. Very easy to tune out but if you don't take notes you wont pass. Flashcards are a must!

As long as you do the homework (which is super easy) and read the textbook before exams, you'll do just fine! Dr. Chambers is funny, and ha so many stories to tell.

The class in general is not very hard. There are no tests just 3 big essays and a couple of smaller assignments throughout the year. Takes attendance but if you have the book you don't need to use your lecture notes. If you show up 1 minute late he makes a huge spectacle about it in front of the class. Goes on political rants that get old fast.

When I started as a freshman, I was originally a physics major, but had an existensial crisis halfway through the first semester. I didnt know what I wanted to study until one day he showed up to discuss Nri dressed in full chief attire. I realized at that exact moment that I wanted to experience history first hand in the same way he did.

Take his upper level courses if you don't want to worry about exams. I personally learned very little because of the class structure, and he really isn't very nice. I know of people who have visited him during office hours to ask for help only to be shooed out because he is too busy to deal with students. He is very different from other USM profs.

I really liked Dr. Chambers in HIS 102, but it was a mistake to take one of his upper level classes. He's hilarious, but I mostly had to rely on the book to teach me because he goes off on so many tangents to actually learn anything in his class.
