Comment:
Be sure to speak in class. That is what will save your grade if you don't do well on his tests. Walls was always very open to staying after class and going to coffee to discuss the films further and made plenty of jokes. The films we watched were all very important. If you didn't get to say something in class, be sure to email him!

Doyle Walls is the worst professor I've ever had. He refuses to recognize other points of views and spends so much time lecturing on how much he loves himself that I forgot what class I was supposed to be in.

Comment:
Walls is incredibly intolerant to views which contradict his own. He's once said "There are no absolutes, but you are absolutely wrong". Dare not disagree with him or he will grade you unfairly. If you are a woman and not opposed to wearing high heeled shoes to class, he will notice and grade you higher.

Comment:
Easy if you're ambitious and/or spineless enough to pretend to agree with his views (I was the latter); difficult if you're concerned about truth and fairness. He makes it pretty obvious what he expects from you, but it may be hard to live up to those expectations if you're sufficiently scrupulous.

doesn't have his Ph.D.. Reads into things and takes them for what they're really not. Grades a lot of the time based on what you said during class. Not that you contributed, but what you said.

Not the worlds best teacher if you are a free thinker and see something different in his class then what he wants you too! Tends not to like the older non trads because he can not "mold" us. went in loving poetry left early to save my love of poetry. NOT FAIR GRADER IF YOU EVEN DISAGREE WITH HIM ONCE!!! He has no room to try and see it a new way

Though I find Doyle--he would prefer Professor Walls--has a wealth of knowledge about Literature, he is very intolerant of others who do not see things his way and tends to favor those who are atheistic.

Into himself and who he has met. Knows his poetry and literature but seems closed minded in many ways.

Doyle's a really great professor, and he's an extremely fair grader. If you put any effort into his classes, you won't get less than a B. He does a lot of extra stuff to keep class interesting (like showing a relevant episode of the Simpsons or playing a Beetles song during cass) and if you ever need help, his office door is always open. A+ prof.

When you read a story in this class you can be sure when you go over it there will be a Biblical reference. Very, very harsh grader (unless you had him as a prof before).
