Gene "Smiley" Newswanger has opened a whole new outlook in my academic venture. IDS 105 is perfect for any major, and he does such a great job at making it fun. The activities, projects and learning material keeps you engaged. Much of the grade is based on journal entries which are due before the final. The projects are also very liberal. Great guy

This class was an easy A. Great guy who keeps you engaged in his lectures and always double check to make sure you understand what he is saying. the only real work you have to do is the journaling which you are on your own for. all around great guy. One of the better Proffs at LCCC

This course would have been great except the textbook and presentation of the book were terrible. There were 15 students in the course and on the first 2 tests there wasn't a single A. Explain how a group of 15 adults can't manage to pull off 1 A over 30 tests? He is a great guy but personal feelings don't do anything for my grade.

This professor was a breath of fresh air compared to some others that I have had. If you don't show up for class there is a chance that you will miss valuable information that you will need for the tests. He kept it interesting and he was full of energy so it never got boring. I would definitely take another course with him.

Like the other reviews, he is a nice guy but the subject in this class is very whack. Everything is common sense and you don't really need a teacher to just refresh common sense. He doesn't even answer questions, he just answers them with other questions or let's the class do it for him. Not Cool

He's a nice guy. But it feels like we're in 1st grade. I mean, the class is helpful in working with groups, but then in other classes, it feels like forever, talking about his kitchen and bathroom. He's nice but doesn't provide a syllabus about journal entries. It's basically routine work.

Cool guy, Mr smiley, his other job is as a motivational speaker which makes him a great professor try and you will get an A. His in-class projects are fun.
