Comment:
An absolute monstrosity of a class. She DOES NOT care about students' mental health. Changed syllabus once it was confirmed our classes were online-only, just to be more tedious, thinks you're ONLY taking her class, and overall, gave the impression that she only wants her UC paycheck. AWFUL response to COVID-19 and BLM crises. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS

Prof. Warnke while clearly an expert in her field, has not updated her curriculum since the early 2000's. There are only two papers you'll read written after 1990 (one from 95 another from 2002). This is supposed to be a course on Feminist Philosophy encountering current issues. So much has happened and this professor has not kept up with the times

She really cares about the wellbeing of students but her lectures were very dry. Had an AMAZING ta who really clarified the material and made the class completely worth it. 3 papers and a take home essay final, but she didn't give details about the final until the end.

No one really showed up to class, and lectures were alright. She clarifies a lot of the reading, so I recommend you to attend. Your grade is purely based on your TA's so make to get an easy grader. There were 3 essays, and the final was a take home write up. If you're taking this to fulfill writing credits, just take english 1C.

class was not stated as in class catalog, completely just her political opinion, sacrifices greater learning for her beliefs disappointing

only like 10 students actually want to be there, the rest are wondering how a political ideology class became an ethnic studies/feminist course, its a requirement so just dont go to class and wikipedia for the essays and your good

class is not about what it was intended for (learning about typical political ideologies marxism, conservatives, etc) rather she uses material from her feminism class, its all about social justice and if youre a male especially white its gunna be fun

Comment:
thought this class would be more thought provoking, but she tends to set up counter arguments to her beliefs/curriculum with straw man arguments so intellectual discourse is stunted. Aslo she tends to introduce subjects in a sort of vaccume disregarding how complicated how the social studies (real world) is. wish she set a though provoking enviro..

I love Dr. Warnke. She's such a nice, pleasant lady. She encouraged discussion in a lecture hall filled with 300+ students. By doing so, she made the class so fun and engaging. I really, really enjoyed her class, and I'm a bio major!

Dr. Warnke is one of the nicest professors I have come across here at UCR. She really cares about her students which is evident in the rubric she gave the TA's on grading the 3 papers (1 outside of class, 1 for the midterm, and 1 for the final). Just go to discussion. I aced the class thanks to the help of my TA making better sense of the theory.

Warnke is definitely an expert. Take her for Phil. of Family or Phil of Feminism and she really shines. Not too difficult either as long as you know what's going on.
