Comment:

Not a good teacher, there is a lot of work due on the same day or in the time frame of 2 days. Got 98 and 97 in lab and class but was given a B+ for some reason. One test result was not disclosed which apparently got my grade down from almost 100% to 85 %. Clearly has favorites in class, and doesn't teach much, relies on youtube videos.

Comment:

Plenty of labs and homework on myITLab. Online quizzes are based on the book, and the tests are mostly made up of questions from the quizzes. There is one group project, which isn't too difficult. Not a difficult class as long as you stay on top of assignments, but it can be fairly time consuming.

I was very satisfied with Prof. Zhu as an instructor. He is fair with grading and takes into consideration outside-world responsibilities that students have like work. We wrote quite a bit in IST 309 but it is very doable and he is always available for help. Stay on top of ALL the work and the group projects and you will have no problem.

Took Zhu for hybrid summer class. All quizzes and half the final was online. Two group projects that were time consuming. My group didn't want to work so I had to do the entire thing by myself. Easy class. Just show up and listen.

This was my first experience at CSUSB.I am a transfer student and the transition has been difficult.This professor is great.I thought this class was fair and easy. He gives chances and people are hating because they are still in High school mode.I say just read the material and study the key terms and don't miss class.I did it w/o book.I earned B

Jake Zhu is an alright (good teacher) to have if you need INFO 309. But I advise for you to take the class with someone else if you don't want a teacher that is completely boring with lectures. Most times, he goes off-topic on something else. Do the group project and make sure you are with a good group. I recommend, but not much.

Class is relatively easy. Take home quiz, 1 test consisting of essay questions (which are end of chapter questions) and MC final. Got a B+ in the class. One final group project that requires you to build a website which is really easy. A lot of online collaboration. And really, his accent is not that bad. I've had worse.
