Comment:

Took him for psych stats, went to class about a quarter of the time, and got out with an easy A. He scales his final grade 15 points, so an 85 is an A, and my lowest test grade by far was an 84. If you have to take some sort of stats I would take this class with Cox.

This is the worst professor I have ever had, I have no idea where you guys are getting this "helpful" stuff from. He was EXTREMELY rude to me when I emailed him asking for help, describing me with derogatory adjectives. DO NOT TAKE HIM!

Comment:

This class is like learning a different language if you have never has stats before. I was struggeling but Dr. Cox meet with me after class to clarify the material i was not comprehending. I am usually an A student so going into the 3rd exam with a D- was frustrating. With his help I turned my grade into a B. Also he scales his grades.

Comment:

Professor Cox is very nice. He tries to explain the material in the best way possible and he encourages you to meet with him if you are having problems. He scales the exams so a 61 is a C and a 74 is a B. Some parts of the test are open book/note so that helps a lot. Overall nice guy, but I probably won't take him again.

I never missed a single class and spent around 4 hours a week getting help from the T.A.,and it looks like I'm still going to end up with a C. I would spend hours studying the "practice" problems he would give us,and then get a test that was significantly different than what he told us to study. Keep in mind that I had all A's before this class.

He teaches one of the most interesting stuff!! His teaching style isn't very much interesting. Make sure to attend every class and take good notes. If not, you can be lost easily.. His class is not so bad.. Besides if you are taking 300 level, you should be quite serious or at least be prepared for it.. I did very well and he was great!! :D

I guess if you absolutely have to take it or have an interest in it, the class is alright. I did extremely well, but I found the lectures incredibly dull and ridiculously monotonous. His tests are about 80% of what he lectures on and 20% of random things we don't go over in class (basically assigned reading from the textbook). BORING!

this man is responsible for the most difficult class i have had since FAILING organic chemistry. he is a lost soul when it comes to test material. half of what he says during lecture isn't even in the book, and he barely skims over material that IS in the book. stay away from this man if you want to keep up your GPA.

Reminds you of Ben Stein in some ways, but is an awesome stats. teacher. He is very informative, and tries to be as clear as he can be. YOU MUST GO TO CLASS. He covers a lot of material each day and if you miss (even if you borrow notes), it is hard to catch up. Do practice problems before the test b/c it could take 2 hrs. to do 1 problem.

Really enjoyed his behavioral neuroscience class; he explained things clearly and held my interest the whole time (and that was back in the days of quarters and 2 hour long classes).
