Do the work and ask questions when needed. If you pay attention and be an active learner you will gain plenty of knowledge from this class. She loves social studies and it shows during every class period. She doesn't get bored with any subject and always finds fun ways to bring social studies alive.

Dr. Lovelace is an excellent professor. She has plenty of experience and although she may seem like she isn't helpful, if you go to her office and ask for help she will be more than willing to assist you. She expects you to be in class on time with your name tag on and ready to go. She really does care about your success. Redo your quizzes.

She is a decent teacher but does not clarify anything until the next project, after she failed to do so on the previous one. She favors some students over others and takes away points from some with no basis on a rubric - just her own personal dislike of students. Suck up and you'll be fine.

I am taking her for Teaching Reading and Writing, and I love the class. She takes time to explain things and cares about her students success. She is strict on projects, which is a good thing though! Def. take her!!

This is a hard class, but Dr.Lovelace makes it easier. You have a lot of stuff to do, but if you wear your name tag and go to class you can use your notes on the mid term and final. She is always willing to help you out and is very understanding! You have an outside book to read instead of the text book. It is actually interesting!

I took this class just this past summer and it was the EASIEST class ever!!! I would advise you to take it in the summer rather during school. She lets you take the quizes online & then if you don't get a 10 out of 10 you can email her your response of y you missed that question and where the right answer is. GREAT TEACHER!!!!

Dr. Lovelace is such a sweet lady! She is always willing to help you with anything. This class is one BIG project (thematic unit) and you work with a group that is picked randomly. To make things easy, she'll email you the templates for most of the assignments and in our class, she let us turn our assignments back in for a better grade.

I love Dr. Lovelace. After having a different advisor (I was misadvised), she did everything in her power to help me graduate on time. If it wasn't for her, I would be here an extra year. I loved Social Studies Methods. Just do your assigments and the class is cake!

She is the absolute WORST teacher!! If she has it out for you, then the class will be absolute h***!! She contradicts herself all the time and you can't figure out what she wants. She destroys everything that you have put a lot of effort in to and will not respond with anything helpful. I cannot say enough terrible things to describe her!!

I agree with 11/22/03- BUT I really think she is ANAL and takes things WAY too far. She's one of those teachers you hate- but does a decent job of teaching. If you ask me, she belongs at another university.
