Comment:

I had her both semesters and felt like she made the class more difficult during the second semester. She is pretty funny and crazy in a good way, but seldom gets through all the notes that she says she wants to get through at the beginning of class. Lab quizzes are a pain. She is very caring and will help you with anything whenever she can.

Professor Schlessman is the most caring professor I've had so far at Navy. She holds as much EI as you need (around her research students and daughter's band schedule). She really really wants to see her students succeed so she will open OWLS up again if you didnt finish or will give extra help on labs you didnt understand. will help if you try

Definitely available for EI when needed. Kind of crazy, in a good way. Really knows what she is talking about so sometimes it is difficult for her to make it easy for people who don't care about Chemistry. Definitely saved my grade though.

DONT LISTEN TO PAST GOOD COMMENTS!!! She is extremely condescending and gives an unreal amount of work, more than she has too. She rushes through material and gives the most difficult quizzes! Do not take her class.

She's evil. She's the hardest teacher I've ever had by far. Though enthusiastic she overestimates students interest in the course forcing them to learn much more than is required for every other Chem class. Her quizzes are hard and she requires more work than anyone else. AVOID IF POSSIBLE.

A very good and helpful professor. Very excited about what she does, and loves to teach Chemistry. Always willing to help you one on one. If you talk to her when you need help, she will make sure you understand the material so you can pass the quizzes and exams. Hands out pre-made note packets to fill in during class to keep you engaged.

Comment:

Professor Schlessman is a great teacher with well organized notes. Her tests are tough, but adequately prepared me for the larger exams. I struggled in chemistry, but she understood the multiple time strains and helped me out. In all, a caring professor that is fun to learn from.

Comment:

Dr. Schlessman is a great teacher and extremely enthusiastic about the subject. Her grading is fair and her quizzes are tough enough to get you ready for common exams but not so tough as to deflate your grade. She gives note packets and study worksheets that make things considerably easier and is frequently available for E.I.

She's a pretty good professor that does everything she can to help you succeed. Will go out of her way to give you EI and explains what you got wrong on quizzes so you'll be good for exams. Provides you with in-class packets that are great study guides. She makes sure that you are well prepared for quizzestests. I requested her for Chem 2.

If you're looking for a chem teacher, look no further- easily the best chemistry teacher EVER. She really takes care of her students and is very enthusiastic. Makes chemistry easy and understandable. I was only so lucky to get her once

Plebe Chemistry does suck no matter what. Dr. Schlessman tries hard to help you learn the subject, but for some reason she can be hard to get sometimes. I think it's because she's almost overly enthusiastic. There's a lot of work, but if you do it, you'll do well in the class.

Awesome teacher, there is a lot of homework and labs, but if you are not good at tests and quizzes you can still get a B by doing homework. Her EI is probably the best at the Academy, will spend tons of time helping with entire homework assignments. Good class notes and students always know whats coming. EI once a week is great before tests.
