During the class, I barely understood every other word said... Other than that he really is a nice person and is super nice and funny, it's just the way he teaches will have you more confused than when you came in... I pretty much taught myself macroeconomics from the textbook and powerpoints.

Once you get past Dr. Ma's accent, he is awesome. He is funny and insightful. If you ever have the opportunity to take him, do it. You won't regret it. All exams are open notes and open book and he reviews everything that will be on the exams thoroughly.

She is a very helpful teacher and makes sure that everyone understands the concepts and the problems. Extra credit given if you see her during her office hours and do your homework. Doesn't allow calculator and no open book, however she gives a review that is similar to the exam and allows a page of notes with formulas etc.. Enjoyed her class.

Extremely hard to understand. Gives homework by writing on the board and erasing BEFORE class starts. If you miss a class or missed what the homework assignment was you can't refer to the 1 page syllabus because it is not listed. Also don't email him as he won't respond. Ignores questions...avoid this professor like the plague!

Prof Ma is great. Yes he speaks semi-broken english, big deal. Know the math cold and you'll do well. open book open notes on the exams. 1 presentation and 1 (12) page paper, your choice of topic. Just show that you're interested and more importantly SHOW UP! he remembers the lectures that people skip and he tests extensively on them!

Professor Ma is one of the best the economics department has to offer. But dont take him if you are not an Econ Major. You'll do well in his class as long as you show up and take notes. Most of questions from his exams are the ones he writes in class.

Prof. Ma is a good guy and a knowledgeable economist, but it's hard as hell to understand what the hell he's saying. -not *impossible* like Pro. Yamada, but still a challenge. Teach yourself from the book and *study* the math problems; you'll be fine.
