away from his personality, i have experienced in his class the worst 2 hours in my entire life for a math class,so don't waste your time attending his class it is better to teach your self , because making it from the book better than going to his class. only go if you have a certain concern otherwise it is a time consuming.

John Mayer was an amazing prof. He went pretty fast, so if you miss a lecture then be sure to review someone's notes. He was a reasonable marker and I felt prepared for the test unlike a lot of other people. He is really caring and makes sure that everyone understands. Lots of examples.

Very good teacher, very good at mathematics and statistics. I would take the course with him again, respects students and explains everything really well, on point. You just have to pay attention to what he says and follow and you'll get an easy A.

John is an awesome teacher! He is very passionate on what he does. I personally don't like calculations but he made the course really easy to learn. I definitely recommend him to other students who will take STAT 220.

John was an excellent math prof for my learning style. He taught the material by doing lots of examples with the class. He has extremely neat writing and the notes on the whiteboard are very tidy. All quizzes were open book. Would recommend for aural and hands on learners. He's also very easy going and friendly, which is a nice bonus.

I found John to be outstanding. He even e-mailed me with question answers several times on a Sunday. Amazing teacher wish I had known he taught STATS too as I would have made sure I was in his class. I have never done this well in a math class in my life.

If you miss class, well that sucks for you. He only goes over things once. There is very little talking in his class, so if you work better in group switch out while you can.

One of those teachers with a very uneven teaching style. Either it works for you or it doesn't. VERY clear notes and explanations, but not very interested in providing out of class help. Good preparation for exams. Overall easy and would recommend for either stats or bmat.

Loved John's class. He explains the material in a systematic way that's very easy to follow and understand. Uses several examples from the textbook so that we get the practice in class. Do yourself a favour and take ANY of John's math classes. You'll be happy you did.

I took both BMAT 205 and STAT 220 with John, he is a little low energy and monotone but teaches the material really well. He uses the textbook mainly for examples done in class. Mathzone assignments are easy. Supplies test reviews, if you do them, you should walk away with an A on the tests and in the course. And he is a neat writer.
