Comment:

I learned more from the textbook than from her (which is funny because she wrote the textbook). Lectures were long and useless because she didn't explain anything and thought it was all 'common sense'. Read the textbook to get a good grade and attend lectures (where she picks on everyone) on or fail.

Comment:

She has been one of my favorite professors at SFU. She calls on students but it keeps you engaged. She has an immense amount of real world experience and give a lot of consumer behviour examples from her experiences. If you put in the effort, this class pays off with Dr. Z.

This woman has been teaching for a VERY long time. You can tell in the way she assumes that students know certain things, that even the best of the best would have forgotten or not had the chance to learn. Overall, she is very knowledgeable, but you just have to work closely with her in order to get the best out of her. Great class overall.

You really need to go to the lectures, or she will definately not like you. She calls on students constantly, so read the text before lectures. She tells you what's going to be on the exam, but there is other stuff on there, so read everything.

well, i don't really like her. she asks broad questions for short answers in the midterm then expects you to answer the terminologies she expects you do, but we are not psych and there weren't enough time to finish all five short answers. and she calls u to answer the questions. plus no food or hat in the class, seems back to kindengarten.

She will NOT give specific help. Or rather she'll tell everyone that she's too busy and yet stay in office and then email everyone that no one approached her. Either that or she'll tell everyone in class how much time she'd spent in preparing the mid-terms. I understand that she's a busy person, but I felt that most are learnt from my own reading.

The problem isn't that she calls on ppl for answers, it's that she asks ridiculous questions. eg. WE DON'T KNOW how many people we should sample without knowing the standard deviation and desired precision, so stop asking. Her marking is the same way in that it seems very arbitrary. No breakdowns are given and her expectations are vague, at best.
