I agree but I disagree. This teacher is hard, he expects so much from so little. It doesnt always work that way. He wants you to know what your talking about by just reading the night before. My class had to work together to learn he didnt help with questions. Yes college is supposed to be hard but this class was a little outragous compared to most

I've taken University courses and classes at Columbus State. This is the worst teacher I've ever had. He's disorganized, does not explain concepts well, and doesn't stick to a logical pacing of material. He's also a bit arrogant. Prepare for a lecture on how you should study and be yelled at if you don't like biology because "it's how life works!"

For my money I expect a Professor to teach not just be a slide show presenter. Reading off power point slides is not teaching! I shouldn't have to reach out to an instructor to get them do to the job they are getting paid for. If you are looking to be inspired look elsewhere. This class was the most disappointing experience I have had at CSCC.

This guy gets so much bad press on here. I actually enjoyed his class. You can expect to work for an A. The good news is, he gives lots of opportunities for extra credit toward the end of the quarter. Download the PPTs, go over notes often. Meske's BIO 111 is not a typical cscc course. This is more like real college.

His notes are SO disorganized and he doesn't follow the book. He also told us that gay people are the result of poor parenting. He doesn't give a normal teacher review at the end of the quarter, instead it's some homemade review that is attached to your final, making you feel unable to speak the truth. Its the only reason he's still employed. Awful

2 words: generous grader. He gives abundance extra credits. Hard to see you fail this course, unless you don't study. Biology is hard for people who don't like it and don't study. nothing noteworthy in his teaching. but what comes out of his mouth will mostly comes out on the test. so come to class!

He is a nice guy and very intelligent, but a terrible teacher. He does not explain the course concepts well and tends to jump around in subjects. He dumps a lot of material on you at one time and the book, notes and class lecture do not correspond to one another. I've taken many university courses and never had a class this ridiculous.

If you have him, drop the class before its too late! He is VERY dated, teaches contraindicatory to the book, is very condascending to students. I'm a professional student, I've never seen so much BS for an entry lvl class!

He is a hard teacher yes. However, he makes you learn. He expects you to know what he is talking about, and I dont think he understands this is an intro bio class. He seems to be "weeding" students out. Stick with it though because if you continue to work hard you will be rewarded. I had less than 50% at midterms but i worked hard and recieved a B

I can usually get an A in every class w/out trying. Not in this class. Dr. M actually makes you learn the material. Darn him for actually expecting you to learn in his class. I would say this is one of the only REAL college classes I've taken here. Good luck to the whiners who expect to make it at a 4 yr university!

If you think the textbook is overwhelming he adds more information to it with his slide shows. He doesn't grade fairly and doesn't know how to answer questions if you are confused, which you probably will be. Just drop the class before you have to bare being in class with him.

There is a lot of material to cover in this class. You must read your chapters and study. He is not an excellent teacher. He spends an unnecessary amount of time telling you how he thinks you should study. Instead of completing our last lab, be made us watch An Inconvenient Truth. This is unacceptable. He's in love with Al Gore. Nuff said.

On top of the fact that he uses horribly outdated Depression Era idioms, there is a MASSIVE amount of work in this class. He is not straightforward about essay questions, or the other material, for that matter, that will be on the exams, and expects you to memorize everything; the final encompassed over 30 chapters(roughly 300 pgs)

He isn't all bad, the class seems hard at first, but a college class is supposed to be hard, that's why it's college. Besides, he gives ample opportunity for extra credit so it isnt really that hard to get an A or a B, but you have to go to class or forget it! He's also a really nice person.

Difficult course, instructor does not make the materials anymore accessible than the helpful presention in the required course book! Lectures are based on Power Point prsnts and videos - neither is he willing to share outside of class. Majority of his tests are based on these - take good notes!
