The homework takes forever. At first it probably took 2-3 hours to do 5 problems and put it in the format he wants but you'll get use to it and it won't take as long. The tests are horrible. You need to start off good because your grade will slowly go down. The lab is pretty easy if you know hot to do micro station

Comment:

Crowley taught Intro to C.E. and this class is an easy A if you have a good understanding of microstation. He is a old fashioned professor and rewards students who show up for class and work hard. That's all he wants from students; for them to show initiative and that they care. Show up for class and do the work and you'll be fine.

He is the worst teacher that I've had at Auburn. Tells you that he's going to give you a test that you can't finish and they're nearly impossible to complete! The lab was easy but the lecture was extremely boring! At least 4 hours of homework each class! If you're in Civil he's the only teacher who teaches Surveying so get ready for a horrible time

He is a great lecturer, the lectures are on topic with the homework. However, his lectures usually don't show how to do the homework. There are examples on CANVAS, and there is a lot of homework. His tests are very demanding!

He uses powerpoint to lecture. His lectures don't show you how to work problems. He just has everything solved out. Leaving you to pretty much to find everything out on your own. Worst teacher I have ever had

He is the worst CE teacher at Auburn. If you can avoid this man, do it at all cost. He talks about himself everyday and tells jokes that arn't funny. The average on the final was a 55. He is so arrogant and thinks that since he is old, he has been there and done that.

Surveying is something every Civil just has to go through and Crowley is the only professor who teaches it. You'll have homework every night that will take 1-3 hours, lab, and hard tests...Find someone with old homework and tests to help...make sure to do all the lab and regular HW...its 30% of your grade that you can get most points on

Awful, awful class. Ridiculous amounts of homework, useless lectures, and stupidly hard tests (class average was a D for every single one of them, and he only curved the last test we took). Labs weren't bad, though. Probably one of the worst CE professors at Auburn, but he's the only one who teaches Surveying, so just do your best to survive.

Surveying sucks. The labs were fun but the lecture was just an opportunity for Crowley to rant about how we shouldn't be engineers who just pick numbers off of calculators. Also I bet he has a lifesize portrait of andrew Ellicott. He loves the 38th parallel and mounds. You can't avoid him so just suck it up and do the homework and get old tests.

BIGGEST JERK IN THE WORLD!! you have to take him for surveying just do your homework and turn it in go to lab and turn all labs in labs doesnt matter if they are late but homework he will not take late even if its a minute late. tests werent bad i got As and Bs on them but somehow ended up with a D in the class study old tests they are very helpful

intro to civil engineering. you don't have to go to all the lab days, just make sure all the labs (computer drawings) are turned in by the last day of class. he's very vague on the final project, but you'll get a good grade as long as you put in an effort! oh, and for the weekly quizzes, just look over the chapter it'll be on and you'll do fine!

From the time I got to Auburn I had been looking forward to this class and Crowley RUINED it. The class was a waste of time. Seems like he just flies by the seat of his pants, talks about stuff irrelevant to the course, and his tests are like surveying...always 10+ pages. The final was 25!!! Very few people made a B in there...mainly C's & D's.

this class is awful! i worked extremely hard and more than all my other engineering classes and just got a B! his lectures are boring! his homework is ridiculous! but if you have old homeworks, it helps a little. he has quit using old test problems, so you are pretty much screwed when it comes to tests. labs are long but ashley is helpful.

Dr.Crowley was great. Surveying starts out easy, but gets more abstract towards the end. KEEP UP WITH YOUR HOMEWORK! I warn you it is alot (every class period) and takes 1-3 hours to do. Ashley is extremely helpful in lab. Went to Crowley office multiple times and he is great at helping with any questions you have. He wants you to do good and work

Crowley is a great guy. Fun to listen to, and really knows what he's talking about. Really cool to just talk to randomly, he loves golf. Tough semester of work to keep up with, but he curves the class and wants to see quality students succeed. Definitely rewards those who put the effort into it.

I really like Dr Crowley, one of my favorite professors. He is always willing to help if you go to his office. Get familiar with him, it really makes a difference if he knows your trying. The amount of hw is REDICULOUS and so are the tests...tough it out. DO THE HW...IT DOES MATTER!!! Labs are fun & informative but take the whole time (~3 hours)

I wasn't a big fan of this class. You have HW due every class and it is really time consuming. You have to figure most of it out for yourself too. Tests are pretty hard as well. Labs were actually pretty decent. Ashley is a great TA. I always went to her if I had a question. Dr. Crowley is a pretty nice guy though. He wants you to do good.
