Oh geez. where to begin. judging by these reviews she has been teaching here a while and she knows what she's talking about. HOWEVER. for an into class, she demands way too much. the class is 1 credit and she wants you to take so much time out of class to do work. she spends so much time talking about photos rather than helping you take them!

Dr. Parr has made me an exponentially better photographer. If you are at all interesting in photography, I strongly recommend that you take this class. She's very critical and isn't afraid to tell you that a photo is outright piss-poor. If you can take this in stride like I did, you won't regret it.

This was a super fun class. It's not going to be an "easy a" kind of thing, unless you're a photographic prodigy. still, something i definitely enjoyed learning. you will be getting to know the people in your class very well.

Best teacher I had at Loyola, and by far the best in the department. Extremely helpful. Not a class for people who want an easy A. I spent ALOT of time working on projects. I have nothing by the up most respect for her, and nothing but great things to say.

Dr. Parr is a demanding teacher and her class will take up a lot of your time. If your looking to learn more about photography though it's worth it! She's very helpful if you go and talk to her, but if your looking for an "easy A" elective I wouldn't suggest this class.

Outstandingly smart individual with so much to share and so much enthusiasm for classes and for students in those classes. I would take her class again even if it were for zero credit. It was that good!

This was the best teacher I had at Loyola. This is a hard class which requires a lot of work, but the tests are really simple if you pay attention in class. You will spend a lot of time in the dark room, but in the end, the class is extremely gratifying. If you don't like photography do not take this class!

the trick is to get her to like you, and then you're set. she grades hard (how can you even grade a photo objectively?), and you work a lot. i spent several hours a week in the darkroom and a lot of money on supplies. but i really like her, and she helps out a lot. but i learned so much and now have a bunch of pictures i'm really proud of.
