Comment:

Heavy lectures, but only because she loves what she teaches. Lectures can be boring, but take notes because it will help in exams. Must read the plays and take a lot of notes before hand for in-class discussion. Be engaging, relate it to real-life to make it fun for yourself and the class. She will appreciate your thoughts and reactions.

75% of this class is sitting in a chair and listening to Mrs. Bliss lecture, and hearing her talk for two hours can get really boring. There is a reading due almost every class, and instead of writing a paper each class, Mrs. Bliss makes us write our thoughts about the reading on a notecard (very easy). Readings are a must to pass the two exams.

She is an English Major's professor who loves every aspect of what she teaches; perhaps to a fault. You'll find taking her classes are as much an English class as a History class. In my opinion this aspect of literature is just as important as each work on its own. If all you want is read without any historical perspective I wouldnt take it.

You will always be behind at least 3 classes even on the second day. She will always be late and if you actually want to learn something, good luck, she likes to go off on other topic tangents (history, politics:her favorite, etc.)

Awful. Intro to Drama I read everything and turned everything in. Yes I missed maybe 4 classes but I did extra credit her class is soooo boring. I know people who didn't READ ANYTHING and got an A they went off class discussions when they decided to show up.

ok so first of all, i am taking her class right now for Eng 105: intro to drama. she is a good teacher, but her class is SOOOOOOO BORING! i literally sit there and just listen to her comments. We do the same thing every class time. And the work is confusing, because its hard to understand what she wants you to get done.

Professor Bliss loves to teach about English and gets very excited while teaching. She is one of my favorite professors because she will never make you feel stupid for not knowing something or getting a wrong answer. She is very helpful and kind. Also because she is an easy grader she doesn't focus on grammar or vocab but content

Dr. Bliss is extremely interested in what she teaches and gets very excited about it. She is willing to help you if you need it, and is extremely kind. Make sure you do the readings, or you will not do well, but if you do you will be actively engaged and learn a lot.

Very in depth. She knows A LOT about her material and brings in all sorts of extras to add to what we've read. It's very interesting, but sometimes can be a bit excessive. Really interested in what she's doing and a pretty nice lady.

She is one of the most boring teachers I have ever had!!! I love English and I had a really hard time sitting through her classes. She sweats a lot and seems nervous and when she gets excited, you can't really tell because all of her expressions are the same. Not the best teacher in my opinion

Class is often boring. Don't sit in the front of class, she gets exuberant sometimes and waves her arms wildly... sometimes spit flies. Overall she is nice and helpful, and you will learn a lot in her class.

I like her although class can be a little long and sometimes boring. she does get passionate and can be funny. A lot of reading but she goes over everything in depth and her tests are only over things talked about in class, so sit through the lectures no matter how boring. and she takes attendance!!

I like Dr. Bliss. She is funny and passionate. She is VERY clear and examins the material VERY thoroughly. People claimed that she was a hard grader, but I never had any problems. She does not pull any cheap shots; all the material on the exam is discussed in prior classes. A+ teacher!
