She was a difficult teacher, but made the teaching worth it. If you really want to improve your writing and are willing to work, this is the class for you. If not, don't bother signing up. She is a little boring, but you have to make your essays fun:)you dont really need any textbook other then the packet and the bedford handbook.

Many people have rated her as a bad teacher: this is not true. If you want an easy class then you should not take CHLS 104, but if you plan on working hard and reviewing some grammar skills, then take this class! It will not be easy, but the good thing is that she really wants to help you get a good grade, she won't leave you stranded.

Dont take it!! She thinks U have a Ph.D. She is very unclear, you have to be at least 1 feet away from her to hear her speaking. She makes U write a journal, a lot of essays, a lot of in class essays, a research project, homework from the book, and makes U do stupid junior high verb crap. I have went off on her once already and I really shut her up

This class is very hard!To get a good grade u have to be serious.Do exactly what she tells you.People slack off and expect to get 3s!Do the assignments exactly how she assigns them and when she gives u your drafts back,CORRECT THEM the way she wants.Don't talk back to her she hates it, just be quiet and do your work on time!I got a B doing this!

i liked her a lot, she has such an interesting history, and is very knowledgable about her area of study.She may seem to grade hard, but it is only b/c she expects it, and has the experience of knowing what is good and bad essays. so if you got a bad grade, you probably deserved it.
