I took Dr. Glienna for Chemistry 110 and I would love to take him again. He is funny, clear and is so passionate about the subject that he makes you WANT to listen. Loved every second of his lectures; you do need to do the "optional homework" in order to do good on the tests and quizzes. As long as you read and do the homework, you'll get an A.

Choose a different professor before you fail. Professor Glienna is great through his lectures and makes things less sophisticated, but sometimes he drifts off from one question to another. He is extremely wired up and makes the class go extremely fast. If you a miss a day or two reading from the textbook your way behind.

After being out of school for over 10 years, I was especially worried about taking Chemistry. Glienna made the class exciting and humorous while still being professional. He is very knowledgeable and gives lots of background info to make sure you grasp the information. Would definitely take him again!

very good lab teacher. explains everything in an exciting way, is understanding. grades easy, but you will be left behind if you are not caught up (don't mess up in lecture). A little too laid-back on safety though. recommended

I had Professor Glienna for the lab portion of Chem 101. He was very laid back and didn't expect much out of you. As long as you did the work, you got 10 out of 10. His quizzes were very basic, they are things that you have covered before. I'm not sure how he is as a lecture professor, but for lab he was great!

Great Chemistry Teacher! He keeps the lectures interesting and engaging. Chemistry takes some work. This class, is for most people, the very 1st serious science class students take. You can't sail through it, but that how it is. Quit your whining and step up to the plate, if you're going to be a scientist!

You guys are idiots, this is a chemistry class. Obviously it is going to be difficult. He does a great job of explaining things, and you're only complaining because you didn't study enough. This is the real world, it needs to be tough. Get used to it! Professor, you are a great teacher.

I had a hard time with HS Chem (C-). Prof Glienna made Chem 110 very understandable with great examples. I got an A by reading most of the book doing all non mandatory homework and enjoying great lectures that tied everything together. He may seem intimidating but he is a really nice guy, esp if you show interest to learn. Great Teacher overall.

i completely agree with the person right under me ... he's also a tough grader when it comes to his tests ... it's a hard class, but he just makes it tougher for no good reason ... plus if you pay carefull attention you'll also realize what a****he is ... he's a sick man ( but good at hidding it )

Had him years ago and even back then he was mood swing central. He would flip out and scream at people in front of the whole class until he was red in the face. Unprofessional is an understatement. Avoid. If Davenport teaches the class you need go for him, he is beyond excellent.

he's a great teacher. If you guys want to learn chemistry the right way, this is your teacher. Clearly shows you examples as he lectures. if you ask him a question, he stops the lecture and answers them. His powerpoint is extemely funny because he finds stuff from youtube and other sites to help get the message through. Plus he's funny. Take him.
