Comment:

Prof. Wells was a fun interesting prof. to have. He cares about his students and wants them to pass. He gives quizzes on the last class day of the week, but it is exactly like the lab practice quiz. The lab is important and fun. He gives 2 midterms and a final exam. As long as you go to the lab and understand everything you good for exams.

Dr. Wells was one of my favorite teachers so far at Pierce College, sadly it was also his last semester this year. With COVID-19 he was extremely helpful and could still learn a lot from an online prospective. I wish I could of taken more of his classes because you don't meet a lot of biology teachers that are stern and have a amusing humor.

Hes one of the best professors Ive ever had. I struggled so much with bio and he managed to help me a lot. Hes super caring and is willing to help you as much as you need. Shout out to you professor! Fall of 2019 was the best class :)

Hands down the best professor I have taken at Pierce. He truly cares for his students and wants them to succeed. He gives lecture notes which is crucial to have during class time. Only tests on what he teaches.

Dr Wells teaches such a fun class! It hard work but if you put in the effort you will do fine. He has lots of opportunities for extra credit and teaches a great study method. You need to come to class everyday and take good notes to do well. There is a lot of material to cover so make sure you leave class understanding all the topics.

Loved Bio 11A , he is doing one last trip and i would recommend everyone to go to it, even if they arent interested in marine life. It really opened my eyes to the marine life in Catalina Island and I came out of that trip learning so much new stuff.

He is really messy and disorganized. He does give you his notes and you add on to it, but he goes back and forth during the lecture. You get it but then you don't. He never mentions that you needed a green book for essay tests and expected you to know but I am a freshman so I never knew. He's not caring, and he's not clear with his instructions.

This professor is an absolute gem. He applies his lectures to life events going on right now to help students get a better understanding. He does lecture a lot but is really engaging. Nevertheless he's so knowledgeable and passionate in what he does so he actually cares.

He is very passionate and knowledgeable about marine biology. Attend lectures and pay attention in class especially in Bio121. I would also highly suggest taking Bio122 which reinforces topics from Bio121, plus Bio122 involves a lot of field trips and 2 research cruises throughout the semester. The classes are a lot of fun and you will learn a lot

Dr Wells is a cool professor, talk to him if you are having trouble. I would suggest going to his Lab when he is there to help you. Let him know who you are! Tests are long but he gives makeup tests to everyone in the class if you didn't do well on it. Quizes are easy A's! Make sure to have lab book.

Comment:

Very kind and sweet person. But, was very messy when it came to his lectures. His diagrams and handwriting was often unclear. He requires you to print out his lecture notes. He also requires you to write narratives on his lectures. If you miss a day, you miss alot of notes. The tests were very tough and the study guides wouldn't help at all.

Professor Wells is a very great guy. His lectures are great! If you are a science major I definitely recommend taking him. He is a very genuine and caring person and does his best to help students. Definitely, recommend his class if you care about your grade and want to learn.

Dr. Wells is an amazing professor. He is clear in what he expects and does everything he can to make sure his students succeed. He gives information that is valuable to everyday life and also if you are continuing on in biology. He cares if you understand the material and will slow the class down if needed. Wells is okay. Though he is passionate about biology, there are just somethings I don't like about him such as he mumbles so it is hard to understand him, and when he writes on the board it is not legible. He has messy writing. His lectures, at least for me, are somewhat dull. I'm going to take another bio professor next semester.

Very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject . I definitely learned a lot about bio. He teaches in away that relates to the real world. Graded mostly on three exams, labs, and narratives. Exams are based on his notes, lectures, study guide, and the labs. Make sure you take notes during his lectures. He is overall a great professor.
