Very nice man but behind the times. Requires book with computer access but does not want to use the computer; makes you write everything by hand. Tough grader, no curve. Would be more beneficial using the computer program for tests and assignments; in real life you will not hand write anything. Learned more using computer tutorial/practice.

This man is the reason I became an accounting major. Truly an excellent professor. Though accounting is hard, he makes it easy by always helping students and explaining everything that the class is learning thoroughly. Very personable and tells some cool stories. He is passionate about accounting and really cares about every student.

Here is a typical day of class in CST112: Professor Barta enters the classroom without saying hello. He writes 2-3 exercises on the board for us to complete using the textbook, then sits in front of his computer for the remaining 1.5 hours. All work can be completed from home and turned in online and 95% of the work is out of the textbook anyway

Taking Electronic spreadsheet applications and so far its pretty good. I went into this without taking acc 102137 which i think is a pre-req but either way the assignments posted are not too hard. I google a lot of things and they have similar worksheets to learn from. Online class but he seems to take long to grade the assignments.

This professor is one of the best professors I had for computer/programming classes. He's very helpful and all his work is easy. The class can be hard but he makes the work easy and he helps you in class whenever you're in trouble.

Prof. Barta is a caring professor. He always tries to make problems make sense to students that do not understand it. Yes, he only gives 3 tests plus a final, but if you do well on your first 3 exams, you do not have to take the final. which is a fair deal! I def recommend this professor, he is a really nice guy.

Entire grade based off 3 tests which he does not review for. He teaches the most heavily graded problems too quick, and its always the class right before the test so you could never go home and try it yourself. Also does not give practice problems or curve tests. If you care for your GPA, avoid this professor.

Unable to convey information in an understandable matter, you ask one question and he'll answer something completely different. It appears he knows the material, just can't teach it.

Accounting is just a hard class in general, he tries to make it interesting by giving "real world" examples, but accounting is just a boring subject. If it's possible i would avoid acc101 altogether, but if you must take it, than i recommend professor Barta.

I had professor Barta this past semester. On Average I am an A/B student. I was excited to take the class, and was eager to learn. I think it wouldn't have been so bad if it was with another teacher. Tells a lot of personal stories and likes to tell you how great and successful he is. Definitely take the class with another professor.

He does talk about his experiences quite a bit. I prefer that because it helps make what we are learning about relative to real life but no everyone will see it like that. If you value a personable classroom experience you will not be let down. Excellent professor!

I'm sure that this is a great class, if you enjoy learning about how successful he is. If I wanted to learn how you finished school early and did this and that I would have asked. He uses atleast 15 minutes of every class to tell you thrilling tales of Prof. Barta's life. I do not recomend.
