I took Professor Hammond for Spanish 1120, Beginning Spanish. The course work was challenging and somewhat fast paced, but if you attend class and do the work, you'll be fine. She is very fair and provides clear expectations for all tests and assignments. She creates a comfortable atmosphere for students of all levels. Great teacher!

Professor Hammond does a good job of creating a comfortable learning environment. However, I took this class over the summer semester and the condensed schedule made Spanish I quite difficult. if you are looking to learn the language take professor Hammond's class. if you are looking to pass a required class take the on line class.

Homework is graded only by whether you did it or not; she sticks to the book; great personality; very patient; but she moves a bit fast SO ASK QUESTIONS. She gives exam review. I highly recommend her to people who pick up on languages well & to people who have taken Spanish before. (If you don't pick up Spanish well, just ask her to slow down).

Prof. Hammond speaks english in both span.1&2. I took her 4 both classes & i admit it was difficult, but if you attend the classes & study 4 her tests, you should have no problem. If you cant attend a class, just communicate with her. She's very patient, understanding, & humorous. I'd take her again if she taught anything else.

I was very disapointed in her repect towards her students in this class. She teaches both highschool& college & treated us like were were a highschool class. She gets impatient if you ask questions she believes you should know and openly calls you out in front of the whole class. It even got to the point that everyone was afraid to ask questions.

She is a very good, yet challenging teacher. She she knows what she is talking about and gives you a lot of homework so you will learn Spanish. Which is why you are in the class. She refers to her own experiences a lot and makes a Saturday morning class something I look forward to. I highly recommend her.

I don't really understand why people are so down on this teacher. All spanish classes move quickly, you have to complete a certain amount of chapters. I felt she was very nice and helpful. She lets you know what material is going to be on every test and accepts really late work. She gives a lot of extra credit at the end. Awesome professor!

OMG This teacher is AWFUL! She moves at a nanospeed pace and expects beginning speakers to keep up with her. Unreasonable expectations and will call you out in class if she does not think you know the answer. I ended up dropped the day before the drop date because I was so lost...Dont let this happen to you!

Mrs. Hammond is a really great teacher. She knows her Spanish, however I would not suggest her if this is your first time taking spanish and it is your intention to acutally become fluent in the language. She does not have the class participate in practicing pronunciations and sometimes gets frustrated with questions that she feels you shoud know
