THERE IS A LOT OF READING IN HER CLASS!I liked both books,but pdf's were ok.very interesting class.however,i suggest not reading too much into the material.i did,and students who didn't even read the material were doing better.she is a very good teacher and she really opens up your mind to different ways of thinking.read material before class!

Professor Hoagland uses compiled writings from many authors. Through the course I read 5-6 books. Her discussions are interesting yet extremely challenging. Don't come to class with out being prepared you will be lost. I would take other classes with her.

A nice teacher, really smart and witty, very helpful, gave me an extension I didnt deserve. Has def. beliefs that she brings to the table. Feminism, Homosexuality, Latino Culture Equality are all her bit. A good class for philo majors, TONS of difficult readuing, well worth the effort in my opinion. will take her again.

Great teacher, all you have to do to pass the class is think and express your opinion. No multiple choice exams, which i found very refreshing. A lot of reading assigment, but interresting. I enjoyed her lectures a lot.

an amazing person all around. love, love, love her classes. i've learned so much. i have to read the material at least three times for clarity, but once she lectures on the material i understand it more. she stays at NEIU because of the students and i admire her for that

May be the most briliant lecturer I have had in so far. Very straight to the point, cuts through dense material skillfully and with ease. Kind of professor who makes college worth attending. Will take every class I can with her. Your brain will thank you.
