Walter seems to be very understanding of the students, and he does not want the class to be stressful. He has a weird test format and he expects us to type it into the computer which is a little annoying.

Professor Peterson is an excellent instructor with very informative lectures, and an interesting test format (one that is easily understood after completing the first exam). 90% of the info for the tests are provided during his lectures, making it imperative to show up and pay attention to them. My entire view of art has changed due to his class

I only took this class as a filler. Turned out to be an excellent choice. Walt was an amazing instructor. Not only did we learn about Art's progression, but we also learned about human progression and our relationship with nature and each other. Excellent.

He is one of my favorite teachers at RCC. I randomly picked ART204 as a means to add extra credits, thinking that History of Art would be boring. I was proven very wrong! He offers a lot of knowledge that is not present in the text. Class is very conceptual and idea-based. I'd definitely take any class with this teacher!

Very fair... Almost too fair. He gives an easy A, but the low stress class made it very enjoyable. He knows a lot about art and will make suggestions, but if you say no he will take that for an answer. Great teacher.

He is humble and some students took that for not having knowlege, but he does know what makes good art. You get what you want out of the class and I learned to look at art in a new professional way. A lot of students were rude and thought they knew it all but he understands people and doesn't let things bother him.

I really didn't know what 2 expect with this class...but I'm stoked that i took it with him. His tests are take home...needless to say open note/open book!, and we work on them in class. Most of class time is spent looking @ slides of art, discussing, interpreting, etc. I got a B in the class, without having a book! An E Z A if u get the book!
