Comment:
Very tough class. He talks the entire class and tries to use examples for us to relate to but it doesn't help when on his exams he asks questions like "what did we talk about in class on so and so date". He veers far away from the powerpoints he posts online. Talks alot, not always on topic, and is not clear on what is expected on the next exam.

Bro, wayne the worst prof I've had in uni so far, reads everything from powerpoints and midterms are hella hard - need to know ALL the theories and theorists plus theres random short answers. so dry. no creativity or class engagement. lectures are boring and he often contradicts himself, wants us to take notes on everything.

Dr. Wayne Gorman is an exceptional prof. Course material is taken from the book and presentation slides are easy to follow. Dr. Gorman understands that university students are mature and is open to individuallizing test dates if you approach him and explain your situation.

His lectures were dry. re-words straight from the text. If we asked any questions he wouldn't provide any help. His notes said something else and he was telling us something else. He doesn't do well with people who chalenge him. He doesnt give any directions to what to expect on the exam and expects you to memorize the textbook

Comment:
It is extremely hard to write down everything as he reads it from his notes, and yet you are expected to know it word for word on exams. He comes across as very angry and impatient, making it difficult to ask him to clarify concepts or approach him for help in his office. Puts students on the spot with personal questions. Unclear expectations.

Seemingly every important adjective used to describe a theory comes out of his mouth jumbled. He contradicted himself and the syllabus twice about the due date of an assignment. Very difficult to take good notes. Smart man, probably not a natural teacher for a university.

Gorman is easily the worst prof at MacEwan. He is all over the place with his explanations, and often contradicts himself. He reads straight from the textbook and expects you to know it word for word. His expectations are confusing (told us to do a summary and then after we handed it in said it was supposed to be an analysis). Drop while you can!

The people who don't do well in Wayne's class are the people who expect to do nothing and pass. He expects effort, and a genuine interest in the subject matter; however, he doesn't do well with people who challenge him (probably because he has been involved with criminal justice for forever). Do your readings because he bases his lectures on them.

Worst prof I have had in 3 years on uni. His lectures are all over the place and most of it is completely irrelevant to the course. His attitude towards students is not conducive to a learning environment. Find Another Prof!

Wayne was by far one of the worst professors that I have ever had, he spends too much time talking about his own personal life and how great he is then actually teaching the material. Does not give any direction as to what to expect on his exams

Wayne gave interesting, well-rounded lectures. He is kind of an old-school guy, but he's smart and you can learn a lot if you attend class and pay attention. I would take his class again!

He does a good job adding to what the notes say, he doesn't just read the powerpoints. The class was 3 weeks long but if you go every day your getting your moneys worth. It's one of those perspective changer classes and this professor does a good job making that happen.

Really enjoyed this class. If you attend and take notes there is no way to not get a good grade. He is very helpful and his teachings are clear and easy to understand. You need to review the material and he gives excellent exam breakdowns. Great prof and great class!!

Professor Gorman is an interesting man. He is enthusiastic about what he teaches and uses his life experiences as examples. If you attend class and get all the notes and reread them than you will do great, he gives good breakdowns for exams and gives hints all throughout the notes. He is a great prof, I really enjoyed his class and stories.

Gorman is easily the worst Professor I have ever had. His lectures are dry, scattered, and have no focus. He makes it near impossible to understand what he wants from you on tests. And as mentioned by others, his version of APA is horrible. He obviously would rather be in Arizona based on the amount he talks about going there. Stay away!

This man is not a university instructor. He is self involved and anti feminist. He spends time re-hashing his own life with little reference to Criminology. When he does discuss course matter it is straight from the textbook. If I were you I would stay far away from Mr. Gorman unless you enjoy horrible teaching.

Terrible lecturer with a required textbook that he will online draw or reference from once or twice. Clearly an intelligent man but needs to be reassess as a professor at a University.

Comment:
Wayne is an educated man; however, he does not know how to teach at university level class. He expects us to copy all notes down which distracts the students from paying attention to the lecture material. His statistics that he gives out to the class are evidently incorrect. He is an educated man but his teaching tactics are very poor.
