Halfway through the semester, he changed to a new setup with an awful microphone which paired with his heavy accent made it nearly impossible to understand a word he said. He does not have office hours and is almost impossible to reach outside of class. He hardly understands technology so if you are taking him online stay away!

Dr. Qi is a nice guy. His accent takes a couple of days to get used to but once you get used to it, you can understand him just fine. Go to lecture and ask questions and do all the assigned Homeworks and you should be fine. Differential equation gets somewhat tedious and complicated the further you are in the course so just study hard!

Professor Qi is very sweet, hes very kind and will do his best to make sure you understand things. He is flexible with partial credit and will try to help you succeed. His exams cover exactly what he teaches, he has very little curveballs at least in my experience. He does have a heavy accent but its not impossible to understand.

Qi is a nice guy once you get to know him, but can seem intimidating at first. Thick accent, but you get used to it. I had taken AP Calc AB before this and it wasn't hard, but a good review before Calc II. Exams make up a huge portion of your grade and only 5-8 questions so STUDY FOR THEM. Gives partial credit though which is helpful. Good choice.

I really enjoyed having him as a teacher. He genuinely cares about your grade in the class and wants you to succeed! The way things are graded is clear, and he is fair with partial credit. As long as you show up to class and do the homework problems (which he does not collect or grade) you'll be fine!

The class started boring, but Dr. Qi really grew on me. Grading criteria is crystal clear, we were informed exactly what concepts we should know for each exam. He opens every class taking any questions about material and is a pretty funny guy once the class gets comfortable with him. Do the homework and quizzes well and you should be just fine!

Dr. Qi explains all the material very thoroughly and isn't difficult to understand. I felt that he actually cared whether we understood the information or not and did his best to help.

Takes good notes and read the book. I found his tests to be alright, not super easy nor super difficult. He also graded pretty fairly and made sure to get grades back asap. His lectures were alright as long as you can follow the math behind it

He's great at math but he has no idea how to teach. He just teaches straight out of the book, and I STRESS unless you have the book in hand during class, he will make zero sense

Dr. Qi is very good at math, but not the most amazing teacher. Occasionally he'll skip a few steps without explaining and doesn't always understand what you need clarification on. Supplement what he skips by using the book. He has a slight accent but not too bad. And he has some pretty interesting stories.

Dr. Qi did a very good job with this class. He made handouts going into detail on all the material and supplemented it with his lectures. He was a very reasonable grader overall, picking up on all the little mistakes but not penalizing them too harshly. He's also more than willing to help if you go to his office hours.

I took this class in the spring. It was a very easy class, because his study guides were amazing. It's very specific, so you know exactly what you need to study. Also, prepare a little before each quiz so that you don't miss out on those percentage points. Attendance matters, but it was a free 5%. Other than that, you should be good to go.

Once you get past his accent, Dr. Qi is a solid professor. You MUST attend class though. Although the material can be challenging, he is fair when it comes to building tests and grading. The in-class reviews were supremely helpful if you didn't understand something the first time around.

Took him for Calc I. The vast majority of the grade is based on tests, so you want to do well on those. Fortunately, most of the problems on the test are identical to the ones provided on the study guides and homework, so do those until those are burned into your brain. Seriously, just know the study guides and you will get an A in this course.

You're going to have to look past his accent. And if you haven't taken calculus before, you'll probably be lost. I'd suggest finding a tutor or trying his office hours. As for his tests - most questions came from the review or homework so they were easy. As long as you're not blowing this class off you'll be fine! Takes attendance often!

Takes some getting used to, but if you look past the accent and the quirks, he's reasonable. Not easy, but reasonable. If I hadn't already known the material, I probably would have been lost. He doesn't explain particularly well, but he's an excellent mathematician. Tough but fair. Watch out for the tests. They can be killer.

He has a very thick Chinese accent. He likes to throw crazy curveballs on his tests. He has given extra credit on a few of his tests which was helpful but when ninety percent of your grade comes from four difficult tests it can be stressful.

Exams are straight from the homework. He throws curveballs on exams, such as remembering certain special derivatives and integrals. His exams are out of twenty points and 4-5 questions. Also, he is not very generous with partial credit so a lot of people end up dropping. I don't think he's too bad, although he teaches a dreadfully boring topic!

I am taking Calc II with him. I LOVE calculus, and I have been prepared for each of his tests, but he throws curveballs like it's his job!!! Let's say you're learning 5 methods, he will encompass all 5 methods into ONE of his 4 test questions and choose the hardest question imaginable. If you think you're prepared... you aren't. I'm failing.

Took the class over summer. Speaks pretty good english. Only pronounces certain words really oddly... like theta. Tests are really easy if you do the homework problems and his extra credit helps a lot too. It's not too often that a professor will give you 20 points of EC on all exams. Keep up with the hw and you'll get an A
