Comment:
This teacher is terrible. He simply does not know what he is talking about so literally everyone in class had to teach themselves. And even when we research things to use on essays and tests, he gave everyone an absolute 0 for not using his exact words. Literally wrote an 8 page paper and got a zero for no reason. hard accent speaks gibberish

He's the only professor i know that makes you explain your multiple choice answers and if you get the explanation wrong you get 15 points taken off and there's only 4 QUESTIONS! Has no consideration, is impatient, and you can't even understand what he is saving half of the time. I want to know why he isn't fired yet.

The worst professor i have ever have. All i have to say is save yourself. If you're a commuter and rather morning classes, don't do the mistake I did. Take the other Eco professor. Trust me!

Incredibly hard grader and have to work every class to get a good grade. Wont let you use your phone or laptop without fear of getting thrown out of class. Too smart for his own good.

At first had very little hope in getting at least a C. He lets you retake the exams Then you understand how he formats his tests and you will understand how to properly take his exams. personally I never went to the TA and I ended up with a B+. It is about the effort you put into the course. A lot of people complain about him, but it gets better.

The guy is a genius. I mean where will you find a guy who has 2 PhD's, 1 from a top soviet union university and one from columbia university. Not very good at teaching though. He deviates from the topic and does not cover enough topics. His way of explaining things is difficult. Easy A class with as many retakes and he gives questions beforehand.

He moves very slowly through discussions, which are usually boring and hard to follow. He goes in-depth into subjects unrelated to Economics. He is extremely unhelpful at his office hours and does not respond to emails. The highlight of his class is that there is little homework given.

He is a little eccentric but got me to really enjoy economics and pursue a career in it. I have a great job now and I owe it all to him. He is brilliant and forces you to think out of the box. If you get a question wrong, but can explain rational methodology of how you arrived at your answer, you get most full credit. Great man.

Horrible instructor. He made us buy this text book, and has not used it once. He gives us homework that barely pertains to the class, it's useless when studying for an exam. Oh, and his exam? Don't expect to pass them right away. He lets you take it over luckily.

Sometimes he goes around and finally arrives at the topic, he's just trying to show you his thinking process. My friend said he's dumb, but I honestly don't think someone who has two PhD's, one in Russia at 24 years old, and one at Columbia can be dumb. If his teaching style doesn't match yours, find a tutor. Upperclassmen would know what he wants.

If he doesn't smile as much as Callahan does not mean he is a bad teacher. At least what he teaches is helpful ad you won't forget the material easily because he goes over stuff in depth.

Everyone is totally overreacting. Class was easy. Not such a great teacher, but almost impossible not to get an A b/c he lets you do tests over and over. If u have NO background in algebra at all and can't graph something simple, go back to high school.. no college class is for you. He's a funny Russian guy that people are afraid of for no reason.

Mean and rude. very cold-hearted. Just wish he would be nice to his students and be more in touch with them, just like how he's very much in touch with Economics. Sad part is that he's the only professor teaching Econ 1 and 2.

A very cold-hearted, mean man. Needs to be more in touch with his students and not make them feel like their useless and abnornal just because he can't teach Economics. He should also be aware that every student has different strengths and weakeness and his job as a teacher is to make sure that ALL students understand economics.

This professor needs to get over himself. I have never seen a professor disrepect a student the way this professor does. He treats everyone like they are stupid. If you can't understand his terrible English, too bad. Almost half the class dropped this course. Thank goodness Caldwell got smart and hired another professor to teach Eco.
