he's not a very good teacher, his class was easy, but i learned nothing. After taking him for Spanish 2 i was NOT prepared for Spanish 3. kinda boring, we literally watched youtube videos most classes. i'm a 4.0 student and i got a b in his class and i did absolutely all the work! don't take his class!

I had him for Spanish 2 and I loved him. He is soo fun and easy! Easiest A ever. He makes Spanish so easy! He was gone a lot but it was for medical reasons. I got to know Carlos really well and I look at him as my teacher and my friend. He helps me whenever I don't understand something. Tests were easy, we got to use notes on all exams!

Sometimes it's nice to have a relaxed class, but the class didn't challenge me at all. He is a nice guy, funny. But he doesn't take teaching very seriously. Late all the time, walks out in the middle of class, no text book, scattered schedule.

He is Funny !! If you want to get an A and have fun take his class. Last semester he bought Smoothies for the whole class, and we also ate south American food, it was so good. We learned spanish and about the cultures of spanish-speaking coutries. It was a good class.

Carlos is a very nice and easy guy. Gives alot of work but never graded on. It's a laid back class and all you gotta do is show up to get an easy "A". If you don't want to learn much and do nothing, TAKE HIM!!! Easiest class ever! No textbook use AT ALL! CHEAP CLASS! Let's you out early all the time.

Carlos is a rly nice guy and funny, but if you don't have a background in spanish (ie high school or native) you might have some problems in future classes. i'd recommend taking a later class as he had a tendency to be late to his 0800 class. hw is discussed in class but not graded - grading is based on language lab time and tests.

What can I say about Carlos? Don't take this class if you are planning on learning. He is really funny and a nice guy, but always late and disappears during class. Wouldn't recommend him for Spanish 1 or 2 because you don't learn anything, but take him for Spanish 3 because its easy to get a good grade and do pretty much nothing.

Professor Gomez care very much that his students learn learn Spanish and uses many different ways to deliver the material in a way that makes it understandable and enjoyable for his students. He also is able to teach about the Spanish culture along the way. I hated the thought of being in class all afternoon but he's awesome.

Very good teacher. This was the first Spanish class I?ve ever LOVED, and I HATE Spanish. I worked my butt off relearning Spanish and managed to get a D in his class. His Spanish 201 class is very conversation-oriented. You don?t learn a lot of new stuff (thank god), but you get a LOT better at the stuff you?ve learned in Spanish 1-2.

Pretty useless class. He does not seem to have a true interest in teaching anymore. No structure to the class whatsoever, and he did not seem to have a firm grasp on Spanish grammar. Often relied on the native speakers in the class to teach the non-native speakers. Always late and would randomly walk out of class. Waste of time!

If you are looking for a helpul professor, take Don Carlos. He is not only helpful but very kind. Mr. Gomez is one of the kind and we are fortunate to have him teach. He makes spanish seem very easy, he will teach you all you need to know to move to the next level. BEST TEACHER EVER!!!!!!!!!

Don Carlos a.k.a Mr. Gomez is a very successful, cute and funny kinda guy. He is the guy you see on the T.V with this other chic trying to teach spanish in to 1979-80's. He's very busy with making new books...very smart. Wants you to learn. He is starting to cut down with jokes and more with teaching. Most book work, and 16hrs of lab. MUST TAKE!

First of all, there is no textbook for this course. Second of all, he is ALWAYS at least 10 minutes late. And third, this guy is not funny like so many say he is. Honestly, if you are structure inclined, this is not the professor for you.

Carlos is an awesome professor! He is one of the friendliest professors I've ever met. He jokes around and teaches you things you wouldn't learn in any other class. He's laid back and yet he still wants you to learn.

Comment:

Nice funny guy, but CANNOT teach. If you want an easy class & don't care for learning at all, take him. We got out early all the time, he spent an hour each class telling stories & making jokes. We spent weeks on the same topic & only covered subjunctives, object pronouns, & commands. Disorganized, unclear about grading, always late, & just a mess.
