I took Dave's sight reading lab online. I would have liked to see more techniques on how to actually read better, his methods are more practice based, so it's up to you to figure out how to improve. The final was significantly harder than the rest of the semester, so if you're willing to put considerable practice in, you'll be okay, but it's tough.

Very nice guy, but he didn't push me at all and I didn't grow very much as a bass player. He's a good bassist, but he would give me assignments one week and then the next we wouldn't go over them. As a major procrastinator I need professors who hold me accountable, and when I did practice I had no idea if I was doing it correctly.

Dave is a chill teacher to have for private instruction. He is very easy going but is also clear about the expectations for the course. Would surely recconmend him.

Absolutely great teacher. He is very relaxed and easy going. He is extremely knowledgeable and can help you with whatever it is you want to learn. He allows the private lesson to be centered around what you want to learn, so you don't find yourself simply preparing for the proficiencies but actually growing as a bass player.

Very nice guy, but I wouldn't advise his MIDI bass lab, he shows you how to use the instrument and then sits back for the rest of the semester, but I like his personality.

Unless you're disecting obscure Marcus Miller riffs, this creature will kill any sense of music theory for you, the effects probably passing on to future generations. Is very insecure with the material, half the time being corrected by his students, and a lousy communicator at that. Grade-A painful
