An excellent teacher. It's so refreshing to have someone who loves the subject but who also clearly loves to teach it and to see students excel. He's really good at figuring out each person's strengths and finding ways to relate to everyone on an individual, personal level.

Gus is an amazing man- very patient. he is passionate about his classes and music in general. he's kind of like a dad in a way. he taught me how to sing in spanish and read some music. being in latin jazz was one of the best experiences i've ever had.

When it comes 2 a choir group, he sucks (I'm sorry) He expects too much from beginners. He went fast 4 me and I have been in choir for yrs. Don't join the advanced class because he thinks every1 has plenty of time to come to both his day and night classes. My friend, who was in Madrigals w/ me, agrees. So escape b4 you get a "W" like we did.

He's a good and thorough professor. He expects you to work hard but is very patient. He's very nice. Higly recommended. He expects you to attend class every session and be thorough. Grading is kind of hard.
