what I would give to have this guy as my prof for each class! this guy is easily one of the best profs ever, if you ever have a chance to take his class, do it! each lecture is so inspiring and is extremely eye opening. no late penalties, no exams (covid), he is so understanding, and is always open to talk! lectures are nothing less than amazing!!

The best!! He's a very thorough and interesting lecturer so I never found myself bored. The subject matter was engaging and it was evident he was excited to be teaching it. Tests are fair, and I always felt well prepared. He was also very open to hearing student's concerns which made the learning environment even better. Highly recommend!

Truly the best prof at york. He gives no late marks as long as you communicate with him. if you are in a rush he will grade your paper in like 10 mins. basically tells you what to write for your essays if you ask for advice.

Most down to Earth prof on York's campus. Very flexible marking scheme. He will literally mark your assignment in 10 mins in front of you if you are in a rush and ask him. He really pushes the boundaries of what education is . Single most memorable course i've taken in my 5 years of york. Nicest man on campus, will not regret taking the course!

Best professor of my YorkU experience so far. Genuinely caring person. Amazing lectures which makes you want to listen to him and care more about the environment. Solid class and I highly recommend anyone to take a class with Ian Slater. You will love it.

Ian Slater has to be the best prof/teacher I have ever had. Take my word, it was a privilege being a student in this class. He changed my perspective towards the environment in a good way, never had late penalties, always adressed student's concerns in a professional and inspirational manner. Take this course and thank me later, thats all I can say

best prof ever!!! this guy is amazing! very understanding and easy going. i took his summer class and had to get some stuff deferred cause of some things that happened and he was super patient, understanding and just amazing. hes flexible with due dates which is awesome. seriously just take the class, the course is interesting and the prof awesome

Honestly one of the greatest professors Ive ever had. Had him in first year and he made the transition from highschool to uni so much easier. Explained slides throughly, always sent the slides in case you werent in class, and always informed us what to study (no tricks). Also allowed us to hand in our work a week after our final exam. Greatest !
