4 tests, 3 essays, and participation is your grade. The first test surrounds vocabulary. The last three are focused on history. You'll be challenged during the listening portions of the tests (knowing the era or instrument). The essays are simple! He offers extra credit during the tests. Comment:

Professor Witt is amazing!!! He's so nice and I would take him again for sure! There are lots of lectures but he tries to crack in a joke every now and then. No homework at all besides the papers and I would suggest to take good notes and study for the test! He also let us out early a few times! :)

This entry level music class wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The professor knows that everyone is taking the class as a GE and he tries his best to make the not so interesting material a bit fun. He shows a lot of examples and sometimes just plays music for the last few minutes of class. Pretty easy A, just do all the papers.

Straight forward with material. Take this class online if you have the discipline to do it. Quizes are simple, and listening quizzes might be tougher but the good old refresh button = Take multiple times. I would suggest buying the book because seriously the quizzes are mostly based off the vocab and key term. Overall easy class and do your work!

Uses the book word for word in lecture. Talks alot so taking notes is challenging, but the study guide for each exam is super straight forward and hes very lenient when it comes to grading and his curves.

Professor Witt is nice and I came into the class already able to enjoy classical music. This class, though? This class is horrible. It really is a waste of time. This class could be reduced to an hour and a half per week. If you're fulfilling easy G.E. arts requirements, find something else.

Comment:

Witt made the class interesting and worth your time. The class is easy if you show up and take notes and read the book. He gives a lot of extra credit so take advantage! And turn in the two papers on time. Easy A!!!

Enjoyable class. Watched a lot of documentaries. The documentaries seemed to be focused on telling a good story instead of being accurate. To ace the class, you must read the txtbk. The exams are based off of the textbook, not the class notes. This is big. He gives heavy extra credit for material covered in the textbook but not in class.

He was very funny and charming. Made classical music interesting. Class followed the book. Exams were easy and to the point. Very clear as to what he expects you to know. 4 exams, 2 concert reports, and offers extra credit.

Professor Witt is a great professor. He lectures out of the book, so try to buy it. His lectures are very detailed so take good notes. Your grade consists of 4 tests and 2 essays,1 concert report and 1 composer biography. Gives extra credit. He will go over things if you have questions, in and out of class. Funny, nice, and charming. An easy A.

BREEZES THROUGH TEXTBOOK CHAPTERS IN CLASS. WATCHED VIDEOS VERY OFTEN. NO HOMEWORK. 4 EXAMS THAT RANGED FROM 35-60 QUESTIONS WITH A VERY SPECIFIC IN-CLASS REVIEW. 2 ESSAYS: COMPOSER BIOGRAPHY + CONCERT REVIEW. HE WOULD CRY IF YOU FAILED. EASY A.

Mr. Witt is a very nice professor. He can play the cello and other instruments and has played with lots of different groups. He lectures straight out of the book and rarely uses the whiteboard, but that's OK. Read the book because he gives extra credit on tests from it. The class isn't hard to show up and pay attention and have a good time!

Overall good guy. Took him for jazz and the quizzes were not as easy as I thought they would be, but I never bought the book and took bad notes. I went to a jazz concert and got an A on the report I wrote and and A on the biography paper and still pulled off a B in the class with consistently low quiz scores.You could get an A much easier if you bu

Class is boring (most of the time)... he plays these horrible videos, that make me want to poke my eyes out... cause they are boring!... but if you study, you will get an A grade. Tests are not hard at all, just remember the vocab, and the notes he writes on the board. There was no homework, which was GREAT!!. Take it to get an A!!
