He was a very understanding teacher. He took my needs first before his and was always very proud of the effort I put in class. Let's just say if you do what he says, go by his rules, do what is said in the papers, mistakes and all; you will get an A in this class. This is a college course. You have to have some sort of background of writing.

Very rude. His classes are extremely boring. You can tell he loves what he does but doesn't do it very well. His grading is strict. Papers I have gotten a's on I've gotten c's and d's on. Don't worry he'll let you know if you're a lost cause. I've seen him do it.

worst professor for english on campus if you want a D on every paper i suggest you take him other professors have given me an A on every single paper, this guy is crazy and speaks the entire lecture gives students no chance at all for imput

Professor Hawkins is a great professor. However, he is not easy. If you aren't a strong writer it may be hard to do well in his class. He is very strict and boring but very helpful. I would recommend him without any hesitance!

He is a great guy and knows what he is talking about when it comes to English. He is always helpful but only when you seek it. He improved my writing immensely. However his classes were very boring and pointless to sit through for such a long period of time.

There is no word in the english language to describe how terrible this class was. He is very rude, and not helpful at all. Class consists of him reading terrible poems, plays, and short stories. There is nothing interesting about this class. The fact that he does not teach anything does not help.

Wouldnt recommend this class to anyone not confident in their writing. He's very passionate about what he teaches and his grading is stricted. Classes are dry and boring but you can tell he love what he does. Definitely am a better writer because of him.

I had him for EG11 and he was the best teacher. He was so thorough and such a nice guy. His classes can be a little dry and boring, but he tries to make it as interesting as possible. He is seriously the best English teacher I ever had. I learned more in one semester of his class than I did in all of high school. TAKE HIM!

I agree that he is a great teacher, he may be boring at times but he is very thourough on what he wants done. He is very cool and allows you to rewrite your papers for a better grade. I really enjoyed him and have nothing negative to say about him.

Love him! I am in my fourth class with him. He lets you do re-writes on your papers after he has graded them and then he keeps the higher grade. Impossible to fail this class. Super nice guy!
