Comment:
Petar was a good professor. I learned a lot about writing from his class but his feedback is vague and sometimes unclear. He has high expectations and going above and beyond is the way to get a good grade in his class.

He is a nightmare. He refuses to give out rubrics, or any grading guidelines at all. Yet, when he grades he is extremely over-the-top particular. If you don't write exactly what he wants (which is difficult given the lack of rubric), he'll leave extremely harsh comments and a 0% for the essay. Try to get another prof if you can.

Petar is an awesome guy! His grading criteria is hard to understand at first, and he seems to get defensive about it, but if you talk to him he is always more than willing to help out!

I took this class on a whim and I'm so glad I did, it made me switch my major to English. He is a tough essay grader, but gives solid feedback and lets you rewrite. Make sure you go to class, do the readings and participate often. You can't slide by in this class, but if you put in the effort you will have a whole new appreciation for literature.

Professor Ramadanovic is great at helping you improve your writing, you just have to understand that he probably won't like your first essay (espeically if you're straight out of high school) and will go through it with a fine tooth comb. After applying what I learned from his class I ended up getting a 100 the last two essays he assigned.

419 with Petar made me want to become an English major. Content was very helpful, though guidelines for papers were a little unclear. As long as you read and complete assignments on time this class is fairly easy. No tests, just 4 papers spread throughout the semester. Participate in class discussion!

Although the classes feel like they have nothing to do with the only 4 papers we have to do, you need to go or else it will strongly effect your grade. The longest paper is 9 pages but he is a tough grader. However, with one of the papers I really couldn't figure out what to write about and i met him and he gave me four options to choose from.

Awesome professor! As long as you are willing to do the readings and participate and actually do the work you will get an A in this class. He wants his students to succeed and learn, and is more than willing to help you with anything.

i was very disappointed in Petar by the end of the semester. i thought i was doing well and he always told me i was until the end of the semester when i got a B and had an A the entire semester. I loved the class but he was not organized whatsoever and had no expectations or guidelines for anything.

The lectures and discussion in class were good. However, he is an unfair grader (very critical of writing) and rather disrespectful when discussing students' writing.

literary analysis (section might be wrong) I thought Prof. Ramadanovic was decent especially compared to some other english professors who really were boring. The literature was good and I enjoyed the writing. He was even nice enough to take me aside and talked about my goals for my education and after school.

Petar is a very unique man. He takes some getting used to, but once you understand his methods he is actually quite witty and interesting. As long as your participate and speak your opinion often you will do fine in his class, even if you do not succeed with the writing assignments!

For all i know, he's great at teaching english but he was TERRIBLE at teaching Humanities. I was in his section and it was awful. He made no sense but was emphatic and repetitive in his bizarre lectures. Avoid this class! I wound up doing well in it because I worked hard but this class way WAY more work than it was worth. DONT TAKE ANCIENT HUM!

Petar gave a lot of papers, and a lot of reading assignments, hes a nice guy but it takes some getting use to him to understand what he is saying and exactly what he wants you to do in class excersies. Decent professor, kind of a boring class

I don't expect teachers to mollycoddle me, so I can't sympathize with the negative reviews of Petar. In fact, his personality fits his intellectual rigor. This last term, rigor, is one you must confront if you want to learn from this man and succeed in his rather difficult courses. If you love lit. theory, take a class with Petar.

Comment:
I can truthfully say Petar intimidated me throughout the whole semester. There were many people in my class with previous knowledge of the works we read and I was afraid to put my opinions out there. By the end of the semester though, I had learned a lot and Petar had given me great feedback on my papers. He is NOT as bad as he seems.
