Super understanding and kind. If you're having trouble, just go to him and he'll figure it out with you. No surprises in tests or material.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! It's the same thing over and over again, and he does not explain things well AT ALL. So it's basically building on things that are poorly explained or not explained at all. The workload is way too much for this class and the class structure doesn't make any sense. It was way too philosophy-heavy

Professor Nelson is definitely my favorite at Wheaton. Perception blew my mind. He really knows his stuff, and he is great at explaining complex material. You DO have to keep up with the reading or you will fall behind (maybe explains some of the whiny reviews)

I am not a fan of his teaching style. He is dull and his lectures are long and not exciting. Cognition was the class I looked the most forward to going in to college and I was greatly disappointed. He's boring. And he loves Power Points (in a bad way). Almost fell asleep. Tried to take notes - usually ended up doodling in order to stay awake.

I had him in cognition and he was pretty good. All we do in class is powerpoints on the book. But he ads a bit to them to help us understand. He is a good prof.

Nelson is too smart to be teaching undergrads. He's a really nice guy, but he's a hard grader. On tests he'll pick out little tiny pieces of information that he might have quickly mentioned during class. Basically, if you are a mind reader he'd be the easiest teacher ever. If not, then you better be good at studying lots of info and articles.

He tries really hard to make the class fun, and succeeds about 50% of the time. Overall hes a really good professor, and the tests are not that hard if you study. Be forewarned though, he loves to use powerpoint.

Comment:
As a new teacher, he has a lot to learn. He loves working with power point and goes too fast. His tests are stupid. He takes random words and phrases out of like 10 chapters and expects you to know them and fill in the blanks. It's a pain in the ass.
