Comment:

Very intelligent and successful woman. However, she is the type of professor to seek thrills through stumping her students. One time the entire class got the same problem wrong on test, I advocated for 30 min that it was on her not us. She insisted she "said it" once in class, even tho the book contradicted her.

-Very knowledgeable-READ THE BOOK!!-Exams(3)& Quizzes(2)are multi-choic & Essay format-Good Lectures but pay attention b/c [some] essay questions come off lectures-Tough but fair-Grading is straight fwd & no xtra credit if you're not doing well. Overall key is pay attention, read book, and ask questions for clarity. You'll learn a lot in the end.

Prof. Smales is tough, knows the material, and is fair. She is an Attorney and acts the part. Personally I thought she was a great teacher. Just don't expect to get an A for free; she will make you work.

Can be excellent. VERY sensitive and insecure. She likes you as long as you know less than she does. She's highly competent, easily the best attorney in Massachusetts.
