Comment:

Great professor! Explains the material very well. Very helpful! Has old exams in the library which are super helpful for the exams. A lot of the same and similar questions on the exams from the old exams. I took Gen. Chem I with him and made a B+ and taking organic chem I with him and expecting to make a B at least. His exams are easy just study your homework, quizzes and his old exams and you'll get a good grade. Hopefully i'll be able to take organic II with him.

Comment:

He was very sarcastic when i asked him for help. When I needed him to give me help he made it worse by telling me about later chapters. I read and studied the book and go additional tutoring. Nothing helped me espically him. He spends more talking about his life and speaking from the book. He teaches NOTHING!!!! He needs to retire. Avoid him!!!

Please don't listen to the negative comments on him! He is great! If you want to learn and be prepped for the next stages of Chemisty take him. If you want to pass while barely learning or understanding, sure take somebody else. ASK HIM FOR HELP AND HE IS THERE FOR YOU! HE LOVES TO HELP YOU UNDERSTAND! THATS WHY HE TEACHES !

Mr. Heley explains material clear, has exam reviews just like actual exams, curves exam grades, but he is very picky about spelling and units. He will take a whole point off in you miss only one unit in the whole problem which seems very unfair because you study hard pretty much do all the problems right but a little thing like that affects your gr

A nice man - but the worst Chem teacher I have ever had. His lectures in class are OK - but lacking in the detail you will be tested on. Has a very bad habit of splitting Chapters up in his tests so you never really know what you will be tested on. ALWAYS adds material to test that WAS NOT COVERED. Very hard to do well in his course.

Easily the worst professor I have taken at SAC. His droning puts you to sleep. He lectures straight from the book and has to keep referring to it while working problems or else he makes mistakes. Leaves out helpful details/skips steps of the mechanisms which can lead to confusion. Is sarcastic when asked questions. Bad teacher!!! Take Madappat!

(Summer chem 1)If you are a Chemistry Major or Science Major this is the proffesor to take. He Teachs at a university level. You will get a good chemistry education. Be prepared to study 3 hours a day (5-6 in the summer).most of this profs complaints are due people with poor study skill, and no interest in subject. Lets you see previous years tests

okay final was easy, he said that most of the test we will not know, but half of the test we should know. which were the easiest questions, a chem teacher can put. i thought the final was easy, and u can prepare for it. i failed the final, only because i didnt study at all. i got a B and i didnt try hard in the class. just be ready

Perpetually late, can't solve his own examples. Make sure you take notes in PENCIL because you'll be erasing half of it when he realizes he's wrong. AVOID HIM. I don't know how he has positive ratings, there were 32 people in my class and only FIVE made it to the final. I'm sure we're all getting C's. TAKE VAN LOPEZ!

Terrible teaching methods, very unhelpful. AVOID HIM AT ALL COST, I AM SERIOUS. He grades very harshly, even if you get the right answer you still won't get credit if its not HIS WAY. He's poor at informing students of grades. THe final was a joke, it was a standardized test from American Chemical Society- no about of studying will prepare you.

Prof. Haley is probably one of the smartest people you will ever meet. I managed to pull off an A, but it was pretty hard. His teaching style is unique and difficult at first. We did most of our learning when Van Lopez subbed in (take him). He drops all but 10 HWs/quizzes and 5 labs/quizzes, has 4 exams (sampled in library) and AmerChemSoc finl

That had to be Mr.Haley patting himself on the back in that lone positive post. He is a nice person but a Horrible teacher. He is constantly late to class and never prepared. Don't bother taking notes because his notes are copied from the text book. Many times he takes forever to solve HIS OWN sample problems and then on top of it makes mistakes.

By far the worst prof you could ever take. He lectures about everything but the text. You have to teach yourself everything. Expects you to know everything. Not helpful outside of class. Will not be prepared at all for O Chem II. I liked chemistry and did well before Haley. Now I hate it. Please if you know what's good for you you will not take him

This professor seems to be intelligent but he does not teach well. He seems to expect you to know what you are doing. I had a hard time because I found myself having to reteach myself the information because he was very unclear. Avoid this professor at all costs!
