People will say they don't like him because he's unconventional. But he loves to help students and you can text him anytime with questions. If you pay attention in class and don't overthink things, an A is very attainable

One of the worst teachers I've taken. His lectures are very unclear and hard to follow. He can also be rude at times. He assigns readings and barely goes over them in class, however, the test was based off the readings and not his lectures. I learned nothing in this class.

As a top student, I feel justified in saying that Bishop made contracts much more difficult than it needed to be. My main issue was that it was a closed book exam that required students to essentially memorize dozens of restatement sections. Closed book is perfectly acceptable, but I found that the extent of memorization required was unreasonable.

Comment:
Bishop refuses to help students who are confused. It leaves me wondering if he just doesn't know how to teach so it's easier to tell confused students to get out of his office. He also seems to use his students in order to feel smarter bc K doesn't have to be hard. I got an A in a MUCH harder int'l sales class. Bishop is overrated and conceited.

Pretty confusing throughout the semester. I didn't real learn much in class but he is a funny guy at times. He grades very easy and said from the start he hopes to give only B+'s and A's. Taught myself most of the material through the e&e and the model legislation. Everyone seemed nervous for final but those I know all did well and so did I.

He has his eccentricities, but I find him very helpful. He is available to email and call, and he will work with you. Pay attention and read; also look for real-life examples. He likes that. The final is hard, and you may think you failed, but you didn't. I learned a great deal and highly recommend anything he teaches.

Things that seem unclear at first end up making sense in the end. As long as you do the assigned reading and come to class prepared, you'll be fine. He cold calls everyone in the class at least once, but once you've been called you're off the hook for the rest of the year.

He is very confusing and will leave you wishing you could drop the class. Somehow, it all comes together in the end and you'll be surprised how knowledgeable you are about the subject. The whole class is lecture with him interacting with students -- no slides, no handouts. Final exam isn't too bad, though he'll use one essay to try to trick you.

He is by far my favorite professor. My interest in Contracts before law school was nil. He makes class entertaining and engaging. He offers as much help as students need. During exams he offered his cell phone number and after exams he held extra hours for review. He is an amazing guy which translates into his teaching.

Brilliant, engaging, nice man but extremely roundabout teaching style. Reading the book is usually better than trying to understand what he is trying to say in class. Crazy diagrams on the board are pretty hard to decipher b.c of his poor penmanship. Tough grader, but fair.

Horrible. Confusing as any professor I ever had, and he seems to enjoy being incomprehensible. And this was an important subject to get a strong foundation. I consider myself screwed over having taken his course.

Definitely brilliant in the subject of Contracts. His lecture could sound confusing, but actually a fantastic way of peeling off layers of analytic components. You have to chew hard of his notes to truly understand everything. He is extremely generous on giving time to students after class. He cares deeply about what you get out of his lecture.

Truly one of the best teachers I ever had. Although his classes were difficult, it taught me to reason through the law in a way that is most useful in practice. Is very giving of his time out of class if you need clarity.

Quite possibly the worst teacher I have ever had. He is either confusing on purpose or is just utterly unable to articulate his point clearly. He attempts to distract students with humor, which he is mostly successful with. Although available after class, he is just as confusing and impossible to understand in this setting as well. Overrated.

Best professor of my first year and definitely a genius. He can be confusing but not intentionally and will email to clarify after class. His midterm was nuts but the final was straightforward. Meet with him and you will learn what he wants. He can be hilarious when he chooses. Study that R2K and apply it and you'll be in great shape.

People worship this man for ridiculous reasons. He's funny, sure, and a nice guy who is clearly brilliant. However, he teaches in ways that do not correlate to his exam. The midterm was a punch in the nuts, the final was easier - prepare well for both and only write to the questions he asks, or you will suffer. Also, always talk about wine.

Best professor I've ever had. Very entertaining. Had innovative ways to help you remember things. Always had time to answer questions outside of class. He was tough but I really learned my stuff and will take every class he ever teaches.
