Comment:
Nice guy, kinda hippy. Has good anecdotes from his practice days. Reading was so excessive, most of it you won't cover in class. How do you know what is important in the reading? Your guess is (was) as good as mine. Textbook itself was terrible too. I'm not sure I learned criminal law at all.

Had him for Criminal Law. He's a great teacher and brings in real world examples to back up text material. You do have to read a lot but again, when he applies his past case experience to explain the text it's not too bad. Do buy the supplement - he likes to talk about the big picture and won't spend so much time on the black letter law.

Class was very enjoyable but discussions very hard to follow. Amount of reading is overboard... so much you can't retain much. Prof is a really great guy but needs to stick to the plan in class. Textbook was absolutely awful.

Pokrak is the man. He gets the entire class thinking and does a good job of keeping the class focused but fun. This was the last thing I was interested in going into law school and now I have a great appreciation. His exam was based on a song which actually made it kind of fun to take. Best 1L prof I could have asked for.

International Criminal Activity course. Interesting topic, great professor. He's funny and laid back. No stress. Don't have to read, but do it if you're interested. 50% of the grade is a presentation at the end of the semester. Open-book exam; only have to answer one question - was done in 1 hr. 45 mins. Take it!

Pokorak is hilarious in class and very genuine. His lectures were way too much fun for law school and his stories are excellent. That being said, you will not learn criminal law in his class. He does not lay anything out in any fashion a normal person can learn from. USE DRESSLER'S UNDERSTANDING CRIM LAW. Open book exam that was not too hard.

Take him. He is the man. Very cool and down to earth. One of the best classes I took at law school. Very interesting and insightful. Had an open book exam with a straightforward fact pattern. Half of the final grade grade was a group project/presentation. Don't miss out on taking him while you're at Suffolk.

Great Professor! Always engaging...does a very good job of relating class material to current events/topics of interest! Always willing and eager to help students out. Genuinely seems to care about his students not only academically but takes interest in what they are doing in life away from school.
