Medrano is an okay lecturer. Weekly quizzes and midterms are mostly based off lecture but reading the book helps clarify some concepts and some questions come more from the book than lecture. Doing the book study guides helps in my opinion. Discussion/Lab isn't necessary but the TA goes over the quizzes in discussion so go for that

Weekly quizzes that aren't curved (1 gets dropped). Avoid Lab discussions & do well on the lap report. Read the text and do the study guide problems & the textbook questions. Tests are worded terribly. 10/10 would not do again

I really enjoyed this class. Medrano can be confusing sometimes, but as long as you read the book you will be fine. Herd simulation was pretty fun, though it was pointless to attend lab every week for it. There is quite a bit of reading and problems for this class, so its important to keep up. Tests were worded poorly and not enough time to finish.

The CLASS is hard, but the professor knows his sh*T! He wants you to understand the big picture which is nice, and he is always willing to answer questions. GO TO CLASS, READ THE BOOK, AND MATE YOUR COWS, and you will do well in the class. Midterms are half written and half one smartsite (that sucks, but you get used to it)

Confusing and boring. Class has little/no curve b/c the curve is based on the highest score (highest = 100%). high book used. Prof is pretty nice, but he's not a good lecturer. And don't even bother complaining about quiz score, they're not gonna try to fix your grade!

He was ok. Annoying people complained too much & asked too many stupid questions. Sometimes disorganized writing everywhere. Anyways, lots of questions from book so read it! Class is time consuming with lecture everyday, quizzes every week and that stupid dairy herd simulation project. Got B's on everything but final was hard so ended up w/a C.

Class is not very interesting ,but Dr medrano does want his students to suceed however material is boring and confusing, high emphasis on guest lectures, do well on the dairy report tests long and time consuming, do the essay ? first and save the calculations for later, brought us milk and cupcakes the last day of the quiz

Medrano uses the textbook a lot. The material wasn't too bad. Little/No curve for this year, despite his implication of a generous curve. Got worse than I expected, so study hard even though it seems relatively easy!!

Medrano is the best! He seems hard at first but i felt he explained things well and was very fair (esp when it came to the final grade in the class!). the class was a lot more interesting and fun than i thought it would be. hes a really nice guy too!

He is a very confusing lecturer. His tests are pretty fair seeing how he takes questions straight from quizzes. He is not very helpful...he makes students feel stupid when asking questions.
