Great professor- undoubtedly an expert in his field. His research interests pair nicely legal aspect of the course. His readings were always thoughtfully selected and very interesting. If you allow yourself to get into the material and invest in the discussions, you will get a lot out of class, Rodwin is very passionate and sets up a great class.

He assigns a lot of reading, but you just have to get the hang of his lecture style. Definitely read all cases assigned and be prepared to discuss in detail, but don't worry as much about the philosophical pieces. You can get away with skimming those. On the midterm/final papers, be smart: tell him what he wants to hear. Easy grader.

Not a hard class over all. It is just hard to sit through the lectures with him. If you pay attention and take notes during the lectures and keep up with the reading the take home exams are very easy.

This class is only 2 units and he assigns tons of reading. In addition, he assigns students to "present" on topics for class. This adds even MORE work for you. He is a really confusing professor, and is very disorganized. Class is all over the place. If you can - take this with Landers.

This is not your typical case-briefing venue, where the Prof spoon-feeds you what you need to regurgitate for the final exam. Rodwin wants you to think critically and then articulate your opinion about current health policy. Assignments are reasonable and you can choose a topic for your paper. Prof is very smart with great teaching style.

Intolerant to any facts, experiences, or ideas contrary to his ideas. Totally arbitrary grading. Pointless readings. Myself and another student knew more about the class than he did!

Terrible. It is enraging that this guy still has a job teaching. He is disorganized, condescending, and boring. There is a pointless midterm that gets dropped anyway, busy work and excessive reading. He is intolerant of ideas that are contrary to his own and unapproachable.

Worst. Nothing relevant to law. Copious amount of pointless reading on own research interests. Something tells me he uses the student essays to come up with his own research ideas for publication. If you have any interest in public health law and policy behind it avoid. This class is not about law but about his own research interest.

Complete waste of my time. Scattered material, hard grader for no reason (final questions were vague and open-ended). Pointless midterm just sucks extra time. Terrible at asking questions to spark discussion. Assigns useless redundant reading from newsclips. Just read the NYT - you'll learn more.

Incompetent. At one point he posed a question to the class and asked why we though the rules of professional responsibility didn't cover something, I stated they did, and read the citation to him. This was when we discovered he'd been teaching from an outdated code for half the semester.

I have to agree with the post below. He did not follow the syllabus which really made it difficult to plan your schedule during the semester. Plus he added extra assignments not in the syllabus. The readings should have been better organized too.

He is horrible. Don't bother trying to plan your final schedule based on the syllabus. He won't assign it anywhere near the date he says he will. We had to turn in a draft of our exam and then our actual exam. He didn't grade or give feedback on the draft, but if we didn't give an "effort", we failed. Both were due in exam week. It was fun.

Worst class I've taken so far. Everything below is true, plus he had us do presentations on the hundreds of pages of reading that we were given each week--he videotaped them and made us watch the tape with him. I learned absolutely nothing on the subject of civil disobedience.

worst professor i've have had at suffolk law. he is disorganized to the point of concern. for an obvious elective that has nothing to do with our future professional lives(civil disobedience) he assigned hundreds of pages to read a week. we had not only a final paper to write, but also a research paper. he also does not respond to emails.

Far too much reading for a 2 credit. Most assignments were at least 100 pages of reading. Totally unorganized. No particular or even somewhat useful order of topics. ALL reading was opinionated articles and skewed test data - but when we wrote our papers, we were docked pts for relying on these opinions - which was the ONLY INFO source out there!

Without a doubt, the worst professor I have had at this school. I agree with the post below me-- disorganized, unclear, boring, and way too much work for a 2 credit class. Not to mention, the guy is really unreliable. He rarely responds to emails and is late and/or misses student appointments. AVOID.

Utterly disorganized. Chaotic. Obviously fails to understand it's a 2 credit class. Too much reading, too little coherent discussion or direction. Very frustrating. Smart and nice guy, though.
