Comment:
Go to class, read every note case, and follow her ideals. Grades half based on grammar and punctuation and half of whether you follow what she thinks is right. Final was hardly comparable to class material, but long enough to show your knowledge. Good person, O.K. teacher, disorganized class

Prof Landers is a caring professor who is passionate about the subjects she teaches. Do the reading, take notes in the margins and have the book open in front of you as you are in class. She follows the case book and asks very specific questions but all from book. If you are in Con Law get the Cheriminsky. She applies law to current news items.

Professor Landers is an awesome lady who cares about her students, but is not an effective professor. She is so focused on cold calling students and sticking with them for 30-40 minutes of class, despite students not knowing the answers to her confusing questions, that she loses sight of actually teaching the material. Exam is tough!!

Comment:
As a person, very genuine and cares about students' well-being. But purely from a teaching perspective, worst class ever taken. For a 1L, really breaking down a complex subject (like Con Law) is really important. I appreciate background info/policy, but we spent too much time on that instead of actual law. Completely disorganized & behind schedule!

Comment:
Extremely unorganized. Does not teach, does not use powerpoint, rarely writes on board. Asks questions by calling on students in alphabetical order. Stays with same student for 30 minutes. Answers questions with questions. Very unclear, hard to follow. Plan to teach yourself. Fair grader and unquestionably smart, but not an effective teacher.

I got an A in class, B+ on midterm. I didn't really keep up with the readings, but I did use audio and study aids. Read the Chermerinsky supplement when you are on call. I really felt like I learned most of the material cramming for the final, and lectures weren't too helpful. Apply the tests, write your exam with liberal policy in mind. IRAC.

Landers is a very nice person, but she's an old school teacher. She answers your questions with more questions. Her exams are massive and I swear our midterm had two of the same questions on it. Find someone with an outline, buy an E & E, or get the Emanuel. She's super frustrating, but know you'll be fine if you find another way to learn it.

Law school is supposed to be tough, and her class is. But I don't see that as a bad thing. The subject matter is interesting, Professor Landers does a great job making it relevant, and you end up learning a ton in her class. Take her class if you're willing to work. You won't regret it.

Landers is a tough grader with very high expectations. Although many people do not do well in her class, I got an A; it is possible. Do the reading. Go to her office hours! She is very helpful and will spend time explaining what she wants for an answer. Midterm was tough. Final was fair. Not enough time to answer on either.

I was so excited to take Landers at first. That soon faded. She is terribly unhelpful. Very amused with herself. She spends most of the time telling you about her accomplishments and her political opinions. Extremely condescending. All questions are answered with a new question. If you are unlucky enough to get her…RUN!

She is very nice as a person, caring and wonderful personality. But her class is extremely confusing. I knew a lot about Con Law going in because of undergrad. This class confused me entirely. I now know little to nothing about Con Law. The textbook is horrible as well. It is written like a novel... who is going to read a 1300 page history novel?!?

Very nice professor, poor teacher. Class discussion was unfocused, took too long to grade papers, and the final exam was not very reflective of the course. Does not provide much clarity in explaining concepts. Overall a very frustrating experience.

Nice person, horrible professor. Completely subjective grader on midterm paper. Took forever to return a 5 page paper back to us, she kept pushing back the date. (class of like 30 people) Final exam was completely insane. Class was all over the place. No focus.

Loved Professor Landers' teaching style, anecdotes (very informative and on-point), and her sense of humor. She will let the class get off topic for just a few moments and then pulls you back so you get some fun but you also learn and keep on schedule.

She's a great professor who wants to get to know her students. There's A LOT of class discussion but her lectures are still helpful. She is a very tough grader though, I did very well on her paper but the average grade in the class was fairly low.
