She doesn't know what she's doing, our homework or assignments are unrelated to what we learn. Well, we don't learn anything. She never tells us EXACTLY what we have to do. Her grading is crap. always changes. Can't believe I pay thousands for this kind of professor and this kind of education

Comment:

Even in the rare occasions when we did discuss an interesting subject, Sommers managed to make it unbearably boring. If you looked around in lecture, everyone had their laptops opened on Facebook - no one can pay attention to her. Also, her exams can sneak up on you and be quite hard; though she gives you study guides, the exams are 10x harder.

She is a very nice person and does love science more than anyone I know, but she is not a good professor. She does give study guides, but not everything is on there. There will be questions on the exam that are a complete shock. The tests are very hard.

At first I didn't like her at all but she means well and is helpful if you show that you are working hard. Her lectures are EXTREMELY BORING and labs are pointless. Readings aren't really that important - all you have to do is learn the study guide she gives before the test. Very fair grader!!!

She's a good teacher who explains things well, and loves what she does. Was my highest grade with minimal effort. Good lectures, helpful in lab and office hours, aproachable, and gives decent study guides. The study guides don't neccesarily have EVERYTHING on them, but they have most of it and are at least a good start.

Very helpful and one of the most knowledgable teachers I know. From attending JSA lectures, thankful for having SSS just because only her and one other teacher are actually CLEAR about what they are teaching. Other teachers assume you have a PhD and dont even explain at all what is going on. Team exams arent too bad but midterms are pretty though.

I LOVE SSS! She is extremely clear, exciting, and passionate. Team tests are very hard, but I am nearly positive that she scales for the final grades. I feel like she doesn't teach enough of the material on the MC exams, and doesn't make any study guides for her team tests which stinks (didn't know what to study). Amazing lady, great prof.!

at first you think shes crazy then u learn she really just loves her job and you'll never find a professor that is as interested and in love with her job- if your doing bad in her class- go to her and she'll help you do well on the team exams - which are key to getting your grades up= although she says she doesnt curve i think she does..
