This Professor is extremely disorganized and confusing. She revised the syllabus several times during the semester. She would tell some students one thing but tell other students another thing. She does not respond to emails. She assigns hundreds of pages of readings a week but will only do a bus. org. review and not discuss the readings.

I'm sorry, but she is by far one of the WORST professors I have ever had. Changed the syllabus 4 times over the course of the semester, was unclear about what was actually due for a given class, was very condescending. Average reading assignment was 200 pages a week. For a 2 credit class with a majority of evening students, that's ridiculous.

Comment:

She's definitely one of my favorite teachers. By means of pulling out complex issues and making them clear to the class, she's able to truly get into student's minds. She is by far one of the most comprehensive and passionate professors I've had.

Comment:

Susan Finneran is one of the greatest professors I have had anywhere. Her lectures are funny and engaging. She is demanding and her exams are tough, but she really prepares her students. She doesn't stick to the reading schedule on the syllabus (she is usually behind) but she rarely cold calls students.

You will know your stuff coming out of this class. She demands more than other professors (some of which is annoying busy work). Her greatest downfall is that she cannot keep to a schedule. However, she is helpful, considerate, and does seem to care about the students. Test was 152 MC questions.

She knows her stuff, but she responds to every other question with "we'll get to that later," leaving whoever is confused hanging in the meantime. Also, her exams are death! No direction at all on the essays; just a million issues lumped together and not enough time to sort it out. MCQs are also really vague and the answer choices are too similar.

Comment:

One of the most skilled classroom professionals I've come across. There's no hiding the ball with SRF: you'll know what you need to know to succeed on the mid-term and final. Her "law firm" practice in semester 2 is a lot of fun, and it keeps the 2nd semester lively, given the sharp slowdown in the pace of material.

Some people love her, some don't. I didn't really. She was funny sometimes and annoying other times. She wasn't that easy even though you'd expect her to be just from the way she teaches. Nice person though. Even though I didn't love her, I would still recommend her.

Hands down the best professor I've had at any point in my education. She understands the material so thoroughly, but understands that we do not. At the end of the year she still breaks down each case/problem in the same step by step way. Great sense of humor. Be warned: Her essays on the midterm and final are no joke. You'll be prepared though.

If you have a chance to take a class with SRF, just do it. She knows K's cold and her diagrams and reviews are really useful. However, don't be fooled into thinking the exams will be easy, she does throw in everything but the kitchen sink.

Comment:

Enthusiastic, knowledgable and passionate professor. Her cheer, "Sale of goods, UCC!" was a highlight. Contracts can be a dry subject but SRF adds flair to it. The "kitchen sink" analogy of her exam essays is fairly accurate, be prepared for an extensive series of offers/revocations/prelim negotiations/counteroffers/etc.

SRF's enthusiasm for the material is what makes this class enjoyable. With another professor it could easily have been a very painful experience, but her examples and engaging style make learning contracts fun...when possible.
