Comment:

Good professor. Covers a crap load of material during the semester and all of it is on exam, but I'm pretty sure he has a generous scale. Capital gains is heavily tested. Attendance is mandatory. He is one of few professors that will report you to registrar once you miss more than the min allowed.

Comment:

Pretty good teacher. He is very patient and is just a pretty nice and likable guy. Another prof teaches tax, a lady, and I think her class is easier. But I feel like we learned more. So you decide.

This class is hard! Do not expect this class to be a walk in the park. The material is hard, you must go to class and do all of the practice problems to do well. He gives out a packet at the end of the semester, do all of it and take as many notes in your code book and you should do at least average.

Very knowledgeable professor and extremely patient in explaining things. He is also much nicer than the average law professor, smiles and seems like he loves what he does. I strongly encourage other to take his class to get a great basic understanding of federal tax.

BFedIncTax-end of the semester he hands out a long review packet(60 q's +)but if you work out the answers to each and every question, you are guaranteed a good grade on the exam. The test questions are almost identical to the review packet. Write down all his examples, he uses some topics that he taught in class that weren't in the text.

Excellent teacher. The revenue code is the toughest you'll encounter, but Corbett will untangle it for you. Attend class, write down his examples, and do the practice problems. Easy grader.

He is possibly one of the nicest professors I've had. Without a doubt the subject matter isn't the most exciting but he does a really good job going over practice problems so you can see how to use the rules. Exam is limited open book so write concise notes for reference.

Prof. Corbett is a great guy. Despite the fact that the class was so late, I never regretted taking his class. He knows what he is talking about and he makes the class very interesting. He is very helpful, especially if you cannot get it during class and ask him during his office hours. He was my favorite professor for his semester.

A little part of me wishes Corbett was my birth father. This guy is so nice I can't even get over it. If you are interested in getting an A in this class...it's simple...Step 1-Copy down every example (kiddie tax, alimony, etc) Step 2 - Keep your notes for the open book exam SHORT (it's a long test). Hey, congratulations...you just aced Tax!

I can't imagine anyone doing a better job than him at teaching this course. Very animated, kept me from falling asleep in a late class. He knows his stuff. I learned a fair amount of practical knowledge from him. He assigns a reasonable amount of work. Final wasn't too hard either. Just learn the math and copy down the examples.

He really cares about teaching and his students. He can be a little boring (or maybe it is tax that can be a little boring), so sit up front and participate or you will doze off. He does an amazing job of introducing new concepts and explaining them completely to the student. Highly recommend his class.
