HARDEST CLASS I HAVE EVER TAKEN. Be prepared to study HARD. Her testing style can be challenging as to the way she words questions. HOWEVER, the lab instructor (Caleb) is the best lab instructor I have ever had. His grading is more than fair and he really helps prepare you for what will be on the exam. Your grade is the tests

Comment:

VERY hard class. Lab is even harder. You have to buy the textbook because she will use a few diagrams for tests. She won't post her powerpoint for you to look back over which is completely dumb if you are a visual learner. You won't know test dates until a week in advance b/c she will change them sometimes. I don't fail classes but failed hers.

Comment:

This class has somewhat dificult material, but she presents it in a way that's understandable. Lab was more difficult than lecture, and the practicals were pretty intense. Overall I would recommend this class to anyone, but if you are pre-med, consider the BMS version of anatomy.This class didn't have much to do with human anatomy.Mathis was great!

This class was great! Dr. Mathis is the best teacher I've had throughout my educational career. Great teaching style, personality, very helpful, and a great person all around! Love her classes!

Comment:

If you're at all interested in why animals act the way they do, then you need to take this class. Dr. Mathis is very helpful even though she's now very busy being the dept head as well. The "lab" is really student-lead discussions and there is an independent research project, but the class itself is interesting and fun...very laid-back

WOW! What an assume class every student should have to take her class.Her lectures are great, humor dry but very funny, PETA people stay away, great instruction for future research.Can't say enough great things about this class.
