Comment:

Med-Surg is a difficult class on its own; however, professor Dixon makes it even harder. You have to think like her to succeed in her exams. My best advice to survive the class: GSG, GSG notes, and do test reviews. If you know who took her class, ask them what type of questions she would ask. Focus on content more so on practice questions.

This class was awful, when asking questions she slows down repeats the same thing just louder like you were an idiot for asking a question. Huge Power trip if you question anything your grade will suffer. Tests make no sense her grammar is terrible. Avoid at all costs!!

Comment:

Dr. Dixon seems intimidating at first, but she is honestly a caring professor. Shes knowledgeable & responded to my emails by not only answering my questions, but also making sure I understood the material. She opened lecture early on some days in case we wanted to ask questions. Her exams were fair. She provided good feedback during exam reviews.

I had her during the pandemic. She posted many of the class lectures on Blackboard. She provided a lot of Power Points slides. She always responded when I contacted her with questions.

Comment:

Dr. Dixon is a good professor if you put in the work for her class. Lots of powerpoints and blackboard exams - beware of spelling! Lots of extra credit. Was a little tough because she didn't post any lectures and we didn't have virtual meetings so we pretty much had to teach ourselves. However she is usually available and happy to answer questions.

I received a B on all exams (I had to completely teach myself the info) yet because of her ridiculous quizzes that no one does well on I received a 83.8% you need an 84% to get a B in the nursing program. Her lectures are beyond boring, she's rude and makes you feel incompetent for talking, takes a week to respond to email. AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS!

She has minimal teaching skills considering she somehow got a doctorate in education. She's unprofessional and can be vindictive. She must have had a tough life and now she's got some power. A typical nursing school instructor, in it for the hazing. I'm looking forward to running into her in the real world. She needs to hear a few things.

I had her for a lab instructor. She was very willing to help and explained things clearly. I would get anxious when practicing skills while she was observing. She has a presence that can be intimidating at first. Overall she was very informative and kind. Everyone interprets her differently. Some people liked her, others did not.

You have to work extremely hard if you want to get an A. Very tough grader, does not check emails over the weekend and many assignments are due on Sunday- Don't expect any help if you wait until the weekend to complete your assignments.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! does not teach at all. her powerpoints are utterly useless and gives 0 help on focusing what you should study. she is rude and arrogent towards students and does not care at all. this "dr"of edcuation needs to learn what teaching is.

My advice for prospective students - don't walk, RUN from any class this woman is teaching. No reviews for tests, ridulously hard test questions not even covered in book, ignores student concerns, lets computer grade testsquizzes (beware of mistakes in her answer key!) Found this internet instructor very arrogant, unconcerned & so unhelpful. RUN!

This course was the second pharmacology class. She gave study guides which were mainly just a list of meds. Read the book and take your own notes and you'll get an A. It's a lot of self teaching, but that's easy for this course.
